Today we mourn the loss of an American icon, a beloved philanthropist and a proud 4-H alumna, Dolly Parton. Her extraordinary life was defined not only by her incredible talent, but by her unwavering generosity, compassion and commitment to helping others.

For generations of young people, Dolly embodied what it means to use your gifts in service of others. From her roots in 4-H to her lifelong investment in literacy, education and community, she showed us that true leadership is grounded in humility, kindness, and purpose. As Dolly once said, "storms make trees take deeper roots." πŸ’š

A proud 4-H alumna, she reminded us that challenges can strengthen us and help us grow. That wisdom will continue to inspire young people and communities for generations to come. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and the millions whose lives she touched. Her legacy of hope, generosity, and service will live on. πŸ€

A new way to complete 4-H project records is here! πŸ’»πŸ€

Beginning this year, North Carolina 4-H members can complete project records online through Kaleidoscope. This new option provides a more flexible, accessible way to document 4-H experiences while helping prepare youth for the digital tools they'll encounter in scholarships, college applications, internships and future careers.

During the 2026 transition year, members may choose between the new Kaleidoscope system, or the traditional document format.

Explore the new system and learn what it means for the 2026 program year at the link in our comments.

Our 4-H End of Summer Fun Party was held last night at Fisher River Park. We had 77 youth who participated in our day camps this summer. They celebrated with a fun evening of pizza, cupcakes, drinks, and playing on the new playground! Even though summer is over and school is starting back, we hope you will explore one of our 4-H Clubs, Homeschool Enrichment Program, Teen County Council, and 4-H After School Programs! πŸ€πŸ•πŸ§πŸ§ƒπŸ›
