The LLS Triangle Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign has officially started! Last year, I had the opportunity to raise funds for this great cause and was the runner-up for the triangle!

Family & Friends,
As you may know, I am a passionate supporter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I currently serve on the Student Visionaries of the Year Junior Leadership Team and was the 2024 Triangle Student Visionaries of the Year runner up. The Leadership Team is coming together to rally with our 2025 Student Visionaries of the Year candidates to raise funds for the LLS mission!

Over the past 71 years, LLS has invested over $1.7 billion in critical research, which has led to breakthrough treatments for various types of cancer. They have also provided financial assistance and education to millions of patients and caregivers. I believe in the incredible work that LLS is doing because I’ve seen firsthand how LLS has supported patients through my time with the organization.

Wow!!! What a night celebrating all candidates, their teams, and of course, our Honored Hero! Before I share how Jordin finished the campaign, I want to share the collective total. In just 7 weeks, high school students raised $526,161 for the LLS mission! That is impressive!

Jordin exceeded her personal fundraising goal, but we didn't meet the team goal. But, we are not disappointed! She didn't win the title of Student Visionary of the Year, but she did place SECOND in the campaign in the entire Triangle. That is a huge accomplishment and says a lot for Surry County! It was a proud Mom moment when Jordin realized it was about more than winning a competition. She realized the impact was far greater than we could have imagined, and just wanted to do all she could to help, and that makes me proud.

Jordin worked hard, stepped WAY out of comfort zone and gave it her all --- she raised awareness for LLS and its mission and kept Kynslee's memory alive and told her story to so many people. We have met some amazing people over this 7 week journey and have made new friendships that we will forever cherish. We have met the sweetest little cancer warriors and they have left a lasting impression on all of us.

Thank you to our amazing team! A huge thank you to every single person that donated. We can't thank you enough!

We are so proud to be part of our little community -- together, we have accomplished some big things in a short time!
