Legacy Animal Sanctuary We provide a safe, loving home to animals in need, both livestock and domestic. In regards to dogs, our focus is on middle to senior age Giant Breeds.

We provide a forever, loving home to any animal in need that we can properly accommodate and care for, both livestock and domestic. We do adopt out dogs if we feel our environment is not what they want or need. In that case, we will work to find the very best home for them. We are also one of the few rescues that will take in the "unsocialized" feral cats and work with them to help them learn to t

rust. If successful, we will place the cat up for adoption and help it to find a forever, loving home. If they are not good candidates for adoption, they will continue to live out their life at the sanctuary.

We had a busy weekend of adoptions! Five of the nine puppies went to their forever home! Another one is adopted but will remain here until the end of September as the adopter has a two week vacation scheduled mid month.

So many dogs! Don't forget sweet little Boone is looking for his forever home. Approximately 4 month old Great Pyrenees. Sweet as can be, does great with all the other dogs, great with cats, loves everyone! He will be ready for adoption after his vet appointment on September 4th. Get your application in now, because I don't think he'll be around vety long. How could you not want to add this boy to your family?!

We also took in a new girl today. Meet Margo! She's around a year old (best guess) Great Pyrenees or possibly Pyrenees mix. She's underweight at only about 50 lbs. We can definitely fix that! She's very sweet, seems good with other dogs, cats, and loves people! She goes to the vet for all the usual stuff on September 4th and will then be ready for her new home. Get your application in now if interested!

The puppies had a big day today. It started out with a trip to the vet for their first immunizations and a check up, all 9 of them, at once! 😂😵‍💫 We rushed home from that so we could get ready for three Meet and Greet appointments. Good news! All three led to adoptions in another week when they are old enough to go home! Another one is scheduled for tomorrow! But for tonight, they are pooped! 🥰🥰

We took in a new little dude this afternoon. Please welcome Boone to the Sanctuary! He's an adorable Great Pyrenees, guessing about 4 months old. He was dumped with another smaller pup, I believe an Aussie, but both are now safe with rescues.
He will be available for adoption after his vet appointment on September 4th, but we are taking applications now.
Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you an application and set up a Meet and Greet.

TRANSPORT NEEDED: Can anyone pick this dog up and bring her to the Sanctuary next Sunday? You would meet Angelina Trombley in the Schnucks parking lot located at 4333 Butler Hill Road, 63128, at approximately 10:00 am. Exact time is still being worked out. I've been waiting to post an adoption until we confirmed that it was going to be a good fit with her new k9 brother, but it seems to be going well, so...Miss Molly found her forever home! Her brother, Marley, has a bum knee so we wanted to make sure Molly was going to respect his cues if she was getting too rough. She has been very good with him, so it's match! Congratulations to all!

I am posting these two pups for someone I know that is in a position where she needs to rehome her pups. Negative comments will be deleted so please don't do it. If you are interested, let me know and I can put you in touch with someone who can help.

Molly - Female beagle, a little overweight, very sweet, maybe 3 to 4 years old. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.

Benny - Male, AKC papered, West Highland Terrier, 5 years old, up to date on vaccines. He is intact. If someone wants him fixed she will pay to have him fixed. He is also crate trained.
