Hello all,

First Nations Women's Alliance is beginning to reconnect and rebuild the FNWA Changemaker network across our Tribal communities, and we need your help!

You know your community best.
The aunties, uncles, young people, advocates, parents, helpers, organizers, cultural people, community members, and quiet leaders who may not always have a title, but always find a way to be there when the community needs them.

This is an opportunity to help bring people together across North Dakota and continue building the kind of domestic violence/sexual assault prevention work that comes from within our own communities.

If someone comes to mind, please reach out to them. Sometimes people won't identify themselves as leaders until someone plants the seed.

New webinar: OVW Government-To-Government Tribal Consultation Webinar Preparation

NIWRC invites you to join an informational virtual session on the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Government-to-Government Tribal Consultation. This webinar will give Tribal leaders, designated representatives, and advocates the space to reflect on and develop recommendations to guide federal agencies on administering Tribal funds and programs, strengthening the safety of Native women, improving the federal response to violence, and expanding Tribal access to criminal justice systems. During this session, attendees will learn about the purpose and significance of the OVW Tribal Consultation, including key policy areas like Tribal jurisdiction, , training and resources, research, and options for providing testimony (oral, written, or pre-recorded). This session will also highlight resources available through the NIWRC Consultation Hub to support Tribal leaders and advocates in preparing recommendations and engaging in the consultation process.
