Education Through Music-Colorado Partnering with under-resourced public schools to provide quality music education to ALL students

06/04/2026

๐ŸŽถ What does music mean in the life of a school?

At Colfax Elementary, it means creativity, belonging, joy, and the opportunity for children to express who they are.

This short documentary shares the impact of music education through the voices of students, parents, school principal Michelle Koyama, and ETM-CO music teacher Molly Drewry.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Students share what music means to them. Parents reflect on the growth, connection, and confidence they see in their children. Principal Koyama and Ms. Drewry show how music strengthens the entire school community.

Colfax has been an ETM-CO partner school since 2021. Their voices remind us that access to music education is not an extra. It is an opportunity every child deserves.

๐Ÿ’œ Watch the video and help make music education possible for more students in Colorado.

๐Ÿ“ฃ We are proud to launch Musicianship in Business (MIB), a new leadership network bringing together accomplished professionals from every sector who share a meaningful relationship with music and believe every child deserves that same opportunity.

Thousands of students across Colorado still grow up without access to music education in school. MIB exists to help close this gap by transforming lived experience into advocacy and impact.

Built as a platform for storytelling and collaboration, MIB engages executives, entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers who recognize the formative role music has played in shaping how they think, communicate, and lead.

๐Ÿ™ We are deeply grateful to our founding ambassadors Skye Perry, Shawn Hansson, and James Slattery for stepping forward to share their stories and help establish this network from the very beginning.

โฐ On June 25, MIB will host its first gathering at the Clayton Hotel & Members Club in Denver, an intimate evening introducing this growing ambassador community and creating space for conversation, connection, and music.

If this mission resonates with your own journey, we invite you to visit the dedicated MIB page and express your interest in joining us for the inaugural event.

Now in its 5th year, the ALL TOGETHER NOW FESTIVAL has become a cornerstone event in Colorado, celebrating the transformational power of music in school.

Education Through Music-Colorado students spend the day creating alongside professional musicians and educators, culminating in a live performance that reflects their growing confidence and all they have achieved.

๐ŸŽถ After welcoming artists such as The Reminders, Old Man Saxon, Pink Hawks, Hazel Miller, and Giant Walking Robots, this year the stage will feature DOGTAGS, a Denver-based q***r soul and jazz collective that embodies friendship, community, and acceptance through their vibrant, expressive sound.

๐Ÿ™ Thank you for answering The Call of Music with such extraordinary enthusiasm and generosity.

Last night, our community came together for our annual fundraiser, a pivotal moment in sustaining a program that now reaches more than 5,000 students, including 3,000 who would otherwise have no access to music in school.

โœจ Without question, the most sincere and moving moment of the evening was the performance by our students, supported and celebrated by their parents.

It was a glimpse of what it truly means to give a child access to music and how that opportunity resonates far beyond the classroom, reaching entire families and communities.

๐ŸŽถ We were honored by the soulful performance of Lyle Divinsky and the electrifying energy and masterful funk of MTN LION, who brought the night to life.

๐Ÿ† Our deepest thanks to David Weingarden for his inspiring words as he received the 2026 Community Impact Award, reminding us that the magic of music begins in childhood, in our schools, and through a shared commitment to access.

A special thank you to Number Thirty Eight for hosting us for the first time and providing such a vibrant setting for this unforgettable evening, and to our brilliant auctioneer Halie Behr, whose energy elevated every moment.

โ™ฅ๏ธ To our corporate supporters and media partners, your leadership made this night possible and ensured that every ticket and every auction bid directly supports music education in our partner schools:
Barnes Construction, CoBank, Parsons Capital Management, Inc., Zaidy's Deli & Bakery, Brian Rosen, Brian Vaughan, Farm Bureau Insurance - Colorado, Goodspeed Merrill, LKL Associates, Inc, Rio Grande Co., Live For Live Music, and Collective Mind Technologies.

โฐ If you would like to experience the impact firsthand, join us for All Together Now! Festival on May 12 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.
