Mile High HBCU Weekend, Inc.

Thank you, Vanguard Classical, for having us at today’s College & Career Fair! 🎓🙌🏾

Many of the students we met had never heard of HBCUs, and that’s why these opportunities matter. We’re grateful for every chance to introduce students to HBCU history, culture, and the possibilities ahead of them.

Just one week after we gathered our Colorado HBCU community to celebrate the return of A Different World, Netflix US made it official and announced Season 2 is on the way! 🎉

We couldn’t be more excited to see HBCU culture continue to have its moment on screen.

This is bigger than just a show. Seeing HBCU culture have a prominent place on television matters. It means a new generation gets to see the joy, friendships, traditions, challenges and excellence of the HBCU experience, and for some young people, it may be their first time seeing an HBCU as a place where they can picture themselves.

That representation can plant a seed. 🌱 And THAT is why we were so excited to gather our community to experience this moment together.

Thank you to our partners at Urban League Young Professionals - Denver Chapter, AGUANILE 🇵🇷 for hosting us, and everyone who came out and showed up for HBCU culture! 🖤

And don’t worry, if you missed the season 1 watch party, YOU KNOW Mile High HBCU will be hosting again for season 2 when it drops 😁

In the meantime, we gotta know, who was your favorite character from season 1? 🤔

In the meantime, we had to show some love again to everyone who showed up and showed OUT at Yardfest this year! 🔥

Special thank you to On The Mark Images for capturing these moments and so many of the people who made the weekend what it was.

We’re already working on 2027, and trust us, it’s only getting bigger and better. Stay tuned. 👀

It’s National HBCU Week! 🖤🎓

This week is about about honoring the legacy, culture, excellence and impact of HBCUs while continuing to invest in their future.

Here in Colorado, that’s at the heart of our work.

Mile High HBCU Weekend Inc. was created to elevate HBCUs, strengthen the HBCU community that already exists here, and build a pipeline for the next generation of Colorado students to see HBCUs as a place where they can learn, lead, thrive and belong.

Because representation matters. Access matters. Community matters.

And when students can see HBCU alumni proudly representing their institutions right here at home, they can begin to see themselves as part of that legacy, too.

So this National HBCU Week, we’re celebrating the schools that shaped us, the culture that connects us and the students who will carry that legacy forward. ✨

From the Mile High to HBCUs across the country, we’re building the bridge. 🏔️🎓

Drop your HBCU in the comments and show some school pride! 👇🏾
