The Black Sheriff’s Protective Association would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out and supported the Faith & Blue event! A special thank you to Latin American Law Enforcement Association and FOP for inviting BSPA to attend and be part of such a meaningful event.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community, strengthen relationships, and continue building bridges between law enforcement, faith-based organizations, and the people we serve.

Events like these remind us that when we come together with a shared purpose, we can make a lasting impact on our youth, our neighborhoods, and our community as a whole.

BSPA would like to thank everyone who came out to Denver Hero Fest and helped make the day such a great success!

It was an honor to connect with our community, meet so many amazing families, and spend time engaging with our youth and community members. Events like this remind us of the importance of building relationships, creating positive experiences, and working together.

We hope to continue making lasting impacts in our community and with our youth through continued engagement, outreach, and meaningful partnerships.

Thank you to everyone who supported, participated, volunteered, and helped make Hero Fest a memorable event! 🙏🏾

As we move past the halfway point of September, let’s take a look back at a few important moments in Black history connected to law enforcement and public safety.

• Sept. 22, 1884 — James Wormley Jones was born. He later became the first known Black special agent of the Bureau of Investigation, the predecessor of the FBI.
• Sept. 23–24, 1957 — Federal troops and the Arkansas National Guard protected the Little Rock Nine during the integration of Central High School.
• Sept. 30, 1962 — U.S. Marshals protected James Meredith as he enrolled at the University of Mississippi.

BSPA honors the courage, service, and legacy of Black law enforcement officers and first responders.

We extend our deepest sympathies to those lost their lives and also gratitude to the first responders who served with extraordinary courage and sacrifice.

May we continue to honor their legacy by standing together in remembrance, unity, service, and gratitude.
