At just 4 years old, Julia received her first heart transplant after being diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. Years later, she faced rejection, spent months waiting for another chance, and ultimately received a second lifesaving transplant from a donor her own age.

Now a CU Boulder graduate with triple majors in neuroscience, psychology, and biology, Julia is using her story to advocate for transplant awareness, gratitude, and living life fully.

Her journey is powerful, emotional, and deeply inspiring. It reminds us of how one donor can impact generations of lives.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we honor the nurses who bring skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication to every step of the transplant journey.

From difficult conversations to moments of hope, healing, and second chances, nurses are often the steady hands and reassuring voices patients and families lean on most. This year’s theme, “Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” reminds us that supporting those who care for others strengthens entire communities.

To every transplant nurse, bedside nurse, coordinator, educator, and advocate, thank you for the comfort, strength, and hope you bring each day.

Has a nurse made a lasting impact on your transplant journey? We’d love to hear your story below. 💚

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, and mother figures whose love, strength, and unwavering support help carry families through life’s most challenging seasons.

In the transplant community, mothers are often caregivers, advocates, comforters, and champions, showing up through every appointment, every milestone, and every second chance.

To all the incredible mothers and mother figures in our community, thank you for the hope, resilience, and love you bring each day. 💚

Today, on National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day, we’re reminded that a child’s healing journey is about more than physical recovery. It is also about feeling safe, supported, understood, and empowered every step of the way.

For children navigating transplant, chronic illness, hospital stays, and life-changing medical journeys, mental and emotional wellbeing matter just as much as physical health. And behind every child is a circle of parents, caregivers, nurses, mentors, and advocates helping them carry hope forward.

Today, and every day, we stand with the children and families navigating these journeys, and we recognize the strength, resilience, and courage they show along the way. 💚

Tag someone who makes a difference in a child’s life, or drop a 💚 to help us spread awareness and support for children’s mental health!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The transplant journey is about more than physical healing. It can bring moments of hope, uncertainty, resilience, and everything in between for patients, caregivers, living donors, and families.

This month, we’re creating space for honest conversations around mental health, emotional wellbeing, and the power of feeling seen, supported, and never alone.

Throughout May, we’ll be sharing stories, resources, and reminders that healing is not always linear, and asking for support is a sign of strength.

What helps you protect your mental health during life’s challenging seasons? Share in the comments, tag someone who supports your wellbeing, or drop a 💚 to help us remind this community that no one has to navigate their journey alone.

This week, we proudly join the global community in celebrating International Nurses Week, honoring the nurses whose compassion, expertise, and resilience help make healing, hope, and second chances possible.

From transplant coordinators and bedside nurses to educators, advocates, and every nurse who walks alongside patients and families, your impact reaches far beyond the hospital room.

This year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” reminds us that supporting nurses means strengthening the future of healthcare for all. Throughout this week, we’ll be recognizing the incredible nurses who make a lasting difference in the transplant community as we count down to International Nurses Day on May 12th.

Help us celebrate Nurses Week by tagging a nurse who made a difference in your journey or dropping a 💚 in the comments to show your appreciation.
