“Gail Ferber (crew chef and ops extraordinaire) and I met in 2017 while I was a seasonal project manager, and she was crew cheffing some of my projects that season. She and I became fast friends, volunteering to crew chef together after that season and spending many afternoons birding around the Front Range. Over the past 8 years, she has become one of my closest friends and is a very special person in my life. I owe that connection to VOC! As a Project Manager I continue to see so many relationships like this form on projects and the community that VOC develops is one of the driving forces that keep me grounded in this work. It’s such a special aspect of volunteering with this organization.”
