PEBC - Public Education & Business Coalition The ultimate goal of instruction is to build a student's comprehension and overall skills.

PEBC works across the nation to prepare outstanding new teachers, help practicing educators become exceptional, and shape policies that foster vibrant growth and lasting student success. PEBC trains and empowers ECE-12 educators to understand the theoretical underpinnings of teaching and learning, and supports them in implementing those practices in the classroom, so all students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. While PEBC works directly with educators, student growth and achievement are our most compelling outcomes. Independent evaluations consistently show a positive effect on student achievement for PEBC-trained teachers. PEBC's Boettcher Teacher Residency, launched in 2003, was one of the first of three in the nation to focus on a residency model with a five-year service contract to develop teachers for high-needs schools and districts. The program boasts a teacher retention rate of 95 percent after five years—and statistically significant increases in student achievement data demonstrate the validity of this model in growing a highly effective teacher workforce in high need schools.
