DAEOP DAEOP represents more than 400 educational office professionals throughout Denver Public Schools.

Denver Association for Educational Office Professionals (DAEOP) represents more than 400 educational office professionals throughout Denver Public Schools (DPS). We are all dedicated professionals working to create the Schools Denver Students Deserve. Our leadership includes four elected Executive Officers members serving on committees and special teams to work on behalf of all DPS office professionals.

📢 This year, DAEOP members showed what’s possible when Educational Support Professionals take action together.

From securing contract wins and protecting healthcare benefits to expanding mentorship opportunities and advocating for greater respect and investment in ESPs, every victory happened because members organized, spoke up, and stood together. 💙✊

On this May Day, educators, students, workers, and community members stood shoulder to shoulder to demand a better system that puts workers over billionaires. ✊

Together, we lined Alameda for Allies on Alameda and came together at Wash Park in a powerful show of solidarity with unions, students and community fighting for more than just getting by, because our fights are shared fights.

We march today, organize tomorrow, and vote, because our power comes from our communities uniting, organizing, and winning together.

The fight for the 8-hour workday didn’t end with the Haymarket Affair. It’s still playing out in our schools and communities.

Billionaires like Philip Anschutz hold outsized power while our schools are underfunded and families are stretched thin.

That’s why May Day is about all of us. Workers, immigrant families, and young people organizing for dignity, safety, and a real voice.

Denver showed up strong at the CEA Delegate Assembly đź’Ş

Together, we took a stand for our working conditions, our students’ learning conditions, and a system that works for working people, not the wealthy one percent.

This weekend was powerful, but we’re just getting started. Join us for International Workers Day May Day: Allies on Alameda on May 1 at 4:00 PM.

We’re coming together with workers, students, and community members across Denver to stand up to billionaire influence and show what it looks like when we stand united. We’ll line Alameda from Cherokee to Steele in a visible show of solidarity, then gather at Wash Park at 5 PM for speeches, celebration, and solidarity. ✊

Alexis Matter, DAEOP president, spoke at public comment on what Education Support Professionals are facing every day: low wages, rising healthcare costs, and too many staff feeling stretched thin and undervalued. ONE JOB SHOULD BE ENOUGH.

With a mill levy override ahead, she called for the investment in ESPs. Because supporting students starts with supporting the people who keep our schools running.

📢 This May Day, we invite our community across Denver to come together in a visible demonstration of unity, solidarity, and collective power. We are mobilizing working people across Denver to challenge billionaire influence over our communities and demand investment in schools, workers, and our beloved communities!

This action is part of a broader nationwide May Day effort, bringing together labor unions, young people, immigrant-led organizations, and community groups. ✊

Join us for our “Allies on Alameda” action on May 1, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM. Together we’ll line Alameda Avenue, from the intersections of Cherokee to Steele.

Sheridan Educators Association-SEA members will go on strike April 1, 2026 after working an ENTIRE YEAR without a contract!

In one week, Sheridan educators go on strike after working this entire school year without a contract.

All year we have shown up for our students while the district delayed negotiations, cut support staff pay and hours, and ignored the real problems in our schools. We have spent this year doing our jobs without the protections that supported our schools for decades. After months of disrespect and delay, we are ready to stand up for safety, stability, and real solutions for Sheridan students and staff.

📢This month, we’re proud to spotlight Lupita Castillo, a dedicated leader and advocate within the DAEOP community.

Lupita became involved with her union during contract negotiations, showing up to support the bargaining team and advocate for a stronger contract for all DAEOP members. She later stepped into a leadership role as treasurer, helping with finances, planning meetings and working to ensure member voices were represented. ✊
