DAR Vesuvius Furnace Chapter DAR is a women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, patriotism and honoring the patriots of the Revolution.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization with a deeply rich history while also being truly relevant in today’s world. More than 930,000 women have joined the organization since it was founded close to 125 years ago. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make a difference in their communities across the country and the world. Our May meeting was filled with celebration. We had 3 new Daughters take their oath of membership, we highlighted the awards our chapter and daughters received at the recent State Conference and we installed a new slate of officers! In addition we celebrated with our 5th grade essay contest winner. 🇺🇸❤️🤍 💙

Happy Mec Dec Day ! On this day in 1776 The founding fathers of Charlotte gathered and officially declared Independence from British rule . Known as The Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence and was carried by horseback to Philadelphia . So if anyone is curious about why The date May 20, 1776 is on our State Flag. It is a point of pride. Though often disputed there remains much supporting evidence. So Huzzah!!!🇺🇸

A PRAYER FOR OUR ARMED FORCES

Heavenly Father, we commend to Your gracious care and keeping all the men and women in our Armed Forces at home and abroad.

Defend them day by day with Your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils that beset them; and, help them to know that none can pluck out of Your hand those who put their trust in You.

We ask in Your Holy Name. Amen.
