As we near the end of AAPI Heritage Month, we’ve been reflecting on the many moments of celebration, connection, and community throughout May. This month has been an opportunity to honor the stories, cultures, and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, while also recognizing Hmong American Day on May 14--a meaningful day celebrating the resilience, history, and legacy of the Hmong community in the United States.

In celebration of Hmong American Day, our team came together to raise over $11,000 to support HMAAC’s programs and work in the community. We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our fundraiser, and continues to support our mission.

Another highlight of the month was hosting the Hmong Village at AAPI Culture Fest on Friday, May 22. It was wonderful to share Hmong culture through food, art, music, traditions, and community with so many people across Colorado.

Thank you to everyone who visited, volunteered, performed, donated, supported our vendors, and celebrated with us this month. Enjoy some highlights from AAPI Culture Fest! 📸

Today, on Hmong American Day, we are proud to celebrate the strength, resilience, and generosity of our community.

Over the past 2 months, the HMAAC team came together for our Community Giving Challenge with one goal in mind: to raise $10,000 to support programs that uplift, educate, and connect the Hmong community in Colorado.

Today, we are incredibly proud to share that—together—we surpassed our goal and have already raised $11,270! 🎉

This achievement reflects the dedication of our HMAAC team, who spent countless hours reaching out to supporters, sharing our mission, and advocating for our Colorado Hmong community. Their hard work shows what is possible when people come together with a shared purpose and commitment to preserving and strengthening our culture for future generations.

For more than 33 years, HMAAC has worked to honor, promote, and preserve Hmong culture and traditions while creating opportunities for youth, families, and elders through cultural, educational, leadership, and wellness programs.

Because of your support, these funds will help us:
✨ Rent classroom and studio spaces for Hmong language, culture, qeej, and dance programs
✨ Provide scholarships for youth leadership participants
✨ Support leadership workshops and mentorship opportunities for students
✨ Create wellness and community activities for women, families, and elders
✨ Purchase supplies, food, and resources for community programs and events

Every donation—whether $5 or $500—made a meaningful impact. To everyone who contributed, shared our fundraiser, encouraged our team, or supported our work in any way: THANK YOU. Your generosity helps ensure that Hmong culture continues to thrive and that our community continues to grow stronger together.

Special thank you to all of our donors and supporters:
