Bringing Music to Life

We had a wonderful time at our first instrument petting zoo! Partnering with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, young children were able to play and explore instruments under the watchful eye of the DPO’s professional musicians. Join us throughout the 2026–26 season. What instruments would YOU like to try out?

Bringing Music to Life is happy to introduce our newest board member. With a career in museums, Megan Farlow brings her nonprofit experience to BMTL. Megan is a retired “band kid,” having played trombone for eight years in middle school in high school. She may have left the trombone behind, but not her love of music. She enjoys seeing the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, listening to CPR, and attending concerts whenever possible. “ growing up, band was where I made lifelong friends and felt accepted. I believe all students deserve the opportunity to experience the challenges, joy, and friendships that come from playing music.” Welcome!

What a great day! We had 130 teachers, administrators, colleagues, volunteers, and friends attend our annual distribution day at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts to collect 800+ instruments and take them to their new homes in schools across the state. These refurbished instruments will soon be in the hands of young people, giving them the opportunity to experience music. Thank you to all the schools who applied, and congrats to the schools we’re able to support this year!

This is it! This is the week it all comes together, as teachers from 93 schools across Colorado will be picking up their professionally refurbished instruments and bringing them home to a new generation of young musicians

Every repair was done with a student in mind. Every instrument was chosen to meet a real need in that program.

We are so grateful to our community that made this possible – but the work isn’t finished. Join us at BringingMusicToLife.org and find out how you can help.

We LOVE hearing from students and teachers who have benefited from our program! It’s always great to learn that together, we can make a difference in expanding access to music education regardless of a child’s zip code, school funding level, or family income.
