Congratulations, Elisa!

DSA is celebrating a huge summer for one of our incoming 7th graders. Elisa poured herself into musical theatre this year, and the results speak for themselves.

In June, she starred as Gretchen in Mean Girls Jr. with Denver City Theatre and as Young Anna in Frozen Jr. with the Performing Arts Academy. Two productions, two starring roles, one summer.

Now she is taking the next step. Elisa just accepted her first professional contracted role as Young Anastasia in Anastasia with Ovation West Theatre Company.

This is what it looks like when talent meets hard work. We cannot wait to see Elisa back on our stages this fall, and we cannot wait to see where this new chapter takes her.

Way to go, Elisa. DSA is proud to call you one of our own.

JAR WARS IS COMING TO DSA! 🫙☔
October is IMPACT Fund month, and all 11 DSA departments are diving in! Starting Monday, 10/5, it's time for DSA students to make a splash in Jar Wars.

Here's how it works: students add coins and cash to their department's jar. Bring your pocket change: everyone is welcome to give. The department that raises the biggest percentage of its budget wins. (And don't forget to support the WE ARE DSA jar!)

And the grand prize? The winning department gets to
SOAK. PRINCIPAL. COCHRAN.
That's right. Principal Cochran sits under the splash bucket while students from the winning department drench the principal. Prizes for 2nd and 3rd too.

Where to find the jars:
📍 Near the front office, 7:30 to 8:20am every school day
📍 Fridays: mornings and end of day
📍 Late start 10/21: 3:50 to 4:30pm

Jars are open 10/5 through 10/29. Want to give online instead? Choose your department when you donate to the IMPACT Fund at https://dsafriends.org/ . All IF donations in the month of the October count towards the challenge.

We can’t wait to see which department is going to get the drench! 🫙☔

October is IMPACT Fund month at DSA! 💜

This month, all 11 of our departments are warming up for a friendly challenge to support their students, guest artist program, and more. The department that raises the biggest percentage of their 2026–27 goal wins and wins something fun — we've heard splashes may be involved.

Support from every gift to the IMPACT Fund goes directly to the department you choose. Root for your department with a donation today, and then check back for updates. 🎶📽🛠🎻🎭🎨🎷💃🕺🎸✍🎹

Give at the link in our bio (gifts count 10/1 to 10/31) or dsafriends.org!
Stay tuned — more fun coming tomorrow. 👀

🎻⚡Guest Artist announcement: on Thursday, 10/15, DSA alumnus Mia Asano is coming home to DSA to visit with our orchestra students!

Mia will be stopping by right before she hits the stage on her Denver stop of her North American tour. She'll meet with students, give an electronic violin demo, share her career story, and hear members of our orchestra play. We are thrilled that our DSA students will get to spend time with this accomplished DSA graduate who turned her passion into a career. 💛🎶

Follow to hear more of her work, and, if you can, catch her live at Denver show! 🎟️
