📣Mamas 📣 Let's protect our kids' future and health! Vote this election!

Let's be clear - Amendment 82 is not about your gas stove. It's about giving one industry, the natural gas industry, the power to control gas rates, to pollute our water, and ti put our health at risk.

Amendment 82 would:
1. Would prevent us from establishing guardrails on how data centers are powered, encouraging the use of gas rather than wind or solar;
2. Add the natural gas industry to our state constitution, a place where corporations and big polluters don't belong;
3. Allow corporate polluters to sue and overturn Colorado's limits on toxic water pollution.

Colorado MUST remain a place where we can raise our families in a healthy environment!

The West Elk coal mine near Somerset is releasing air pollution at nearly four times its permitted level, according to state compliance notices.

Here’s what that means for our families 👇

➡️ More greenhouse gases heating up our state
➡️ Worse ozone, the smog that makes it harder for kids to breathe on hot summer days
➡️ Pollution that keeps coming as long as we depend on coal

The state has warned that penalties could be coming, and advocates want West Elk required to fix the leaks now. But fines alone won’t clear our air.

The long-term fix is power that doesn’t pollute in the first place. Colorado has plenty of sun and wind ☀️🌬️ Clean, safe renewable energy means steady power for our homes, cleaner air for our kids, and good local jobs, without the leaks.

We teach our kids that rules apply to everyone. We can also show them what a cleaner future looks like. 💚

We are officially opposing Amendment 82 - The Right to Sell and Purchase Natural Gas - in this year's Colorado election! If you want to ensure our kids continue to live in a healthy environment, you have to Vote by November 3rd at 7pm.

Amendment 82 would let corporate polluters sue to overturn Colorado's limits on toxic water pollution. It would give corporate polluters a permanent, constitutionally-protected right to gut the environmental safeguards we all rely on. Amendment 82 doesn’t just threaten our water and air today, it would lock corporate polluters' protections into our constitution permanently.

We can't let big, corporate polluters damage Colorado's beauty and put our kids' future at risk.

Have you made your plan to yet?

This election matters for the issues that affect our kids today and in the future. The people we elect make decisions about their health, our communities, public lands, clean air, and the future of our planet.

We can teach our kids to look both ways before crossing the street, but protecting the world they grow up in takes all of us, including leaders who will work alongside us.

If you haven’t made your voting plan yet, now’s the time. Ballots are hitting mailboxes this week!

County Clerk & Recorders offices are recommending people drop off their ballots at drop boxes this election. But mailing it in is still an option! Just make sure to do it early enough so it makes its way through USPS.

The federal Lifeline program helps income-qualified households save on phone and internet service:

➡️ Up to $9.25/month off broadband or a phone + internet bundle
➡️ Up to $5.25/month off phone-only service
➡️ Up to $34.25/month for residents of qualifying Tribal lands

You may qualify if you're enrolled in certain public assistance programs or based on household income.

More than 550,000 Coloradans are eligible, but only about 91,000 are signed up. Let's close that gap. 💛
