Please take a moment to read. Orion Gabriel Colligan ........We'd like to tell everyone about Orion. For those of you who did know him this may make you smile at some remembrance of him. For those of you didn't,because you missed out on someone very special, you should hear at least a few of Orion's joys in life. He had a gre

at curiosity towards anything that passed before him. How does it work? Why does it move? What will happen if I do this? What is it supposed to do? Does it like this? You get the idea. He was all boy. He loved exploring, climbing, camping, fishing, nature walks to collect things. Being physical was having fun. Once while visiting the ocean he found himself amazed by the sheer size of it but in some way it made him realize just how special he was to God. For him being all boy included being close to God. Orion's imagination knew no bounds. He went to the zoo,the botanic gardens, and the nature and science museum many times. Thoses trips taught him many things and fueled his imagination. If he was exploring a yard, bugs became poisonous creatures that could"get you" with one bite or they could just fly you away to a fairyland. If he was outside it could be the sun that was just about to melt you or a spaceship from that bright star was about to land right next to you. Only his imagination could tell you what might happen next. If you gave him a plain sheet of white paper and a box of Crayolas in a few minutes you'd have a story about how dinosaurs lived, where they liked to roam, what they ate,and how they fought. Orion liked taking scraps of wood Grandpa had in the garage and making ramps for his Hot Wheels to go streaking down and crashing into whatever pile of toys or blocks he had built. When Mom gave him a red scarf all of a sudden he was a pirate on the deck of a ship fighting the bad guys with his wooden sword. When Orion battled with Dad sometimes they were super heros, sometimes they were Ninjas, sometines performing with the WWE. Orion had energy that could put the Energizer Bunny to shame. And yet,he could enjoy a storybook being read to him as he sat quietly on a bed of pillows or cuddled curled up in your lap. At night he would say his prayers and was always thankful for all he had. There is no way to help you understand the size of his heart. From the way he would tell you about his Molly Girl. to the way he doled out hugs, you simply knew his heart was huge. He cared about everyone. Orion's kindness and compassion were something that came naturally. Once after seeing a movie, there was an elderly gentleman having difficulty managing his waalker inthe snow. He and his Dad helped the man to his car. The gentleman was a complete stranger. Orion was always happy and took great pride when he thought of that incident. He was always concerned about anyone he came into contact with,be it a character in a movie,a classmate from kindergarten, the friends he loved to spent time with,a member of his extensive family, or most especialy his Mom and Dad. Orion was slight of stature but no one could ever miss him. His vibrant personality caught your attention and once you looked at him he caught your heart. He had the most beautiful blue eyes that you could imagine and they expressed every emotion he felt. His funny face and adorable smile gave you no choice but to smile with him and fall deeper in love with him. You simply had to cherish him. Orion's favorite color was red. Red was the best color but orange was nice too. He couldn't like purple best because that was Mom's favorite color. So red it was and red it will always be. When you see something red think of Orion. Think of a very special little boy with an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold. Think of him smiling his beautiful smile while looking down at you from heaven.
