Thank you to Jamie O’Rourke at the Colorado Times Recorder for covering victims’ opposition to Prop 133, a dangerous ballot measure backed by the same anti-LGBTQ dark money group behind Props 134 and 135.

We’re extra grateful to the survivors and advocates who shared their experiences and expertise with Jamie for this piece.

To join the rapidly growing coalition of survivors, advocates, and organizations educating Colorado voters on the dangers of Prop 133, go here: ccasa.org/vote-no-on-proposition-133-this-november-colorado-coalition-against-sexual-assault-warns-colorado-voters-of-risk-to-victims-facing-life-in-prison/

So many incredible survivors, advocates, community partners, and volunteers have raised their hands to get involved with the Survivors’ Solidarity Rally on 9/26! THANK YOU!

Here’s what’s been coming together since we last shared an update:

📣 POWERFUL SPEAKERS: Incredible survivor speakers from a big circle of different communities will share their stories from the podium.

🩵 COMMUNITY RESOURCES: We’re excited to have several partners tabling at the rally. This includes advocates for sexual and domestic violence survivors, campus programs, legal experts, and more.

🗳️ VOTER EDUCATION: With Election Day around the corner, our friends at League of Women Voters of Denver will be there to help you update your voter registration. We’re also thrilled to host advocates who will share about key ballot initiatives that impact survivors.

We love the motto for the Survivors' Solidarity March movement: “Alone, we are drops. Together, we are a wave of change.”

That wave of change is why we’re asking for your help to spread the word:

➡️ Will you send this post to five friends in Colorado and invite them to RSVP?
➡️ We’d also love if you could reshare this post to your feed!

Thank you for being part of this movement with us. See you on the east steps of the Capitol in Denver at 10:30am 26th, and don’t forget to comment RSVP at the link above! 🌊🌊🌊

Last month, the Colorado General Assembly concluded the 2026 legislative session. In the wake of steep budget cuts, this legislative session required creativity, collaboration across sectors, and compromise on challenging issues that directly impact survivors.

We are proud to share that all five of CCASA’s priority bills passed with bipartisan support and have since been signed into law. 🎉

These policies will prevent sexual abuse in jails, expand survivors’ rights in the criminal legal system, reduce secondary traumatization, and promote healing.

Whether you contacted your legislators using our action alerts, testified, shared an encouraging word, or donated to sustain our work, THANK YOU! We could not do this work without our community’s support.

What’s next?

👉 LEARN MORE at our free legislative update webinar with the CCASA policy team on Aug. 12 from 12-1:30pm MST (registration opens soon!).

👉 GET INVOLVED by applying for the CCASA Survivor Task Force! Members play key roles in helping CCASA develop and advocate for survivor-led policy: ccasa.org/get-involved/survivor-task-force/

👉 DONATE to support our work! Many grants prohibit us from using funds for policy and advocacy work, so we depend on community supporters to keep going: coloradogives.org/donate/ccasa
