From the Archives of Emperor 5 Bill Olson:

The ICRME celebrates the Anniversary year of the 3's. Although our 50th Anniversary Monarchs and the 50th Anniversary PR's are no longer with us, we celebrate their accomplishments as valued members of our organization.

The Purity of the Crystal, The White Rose Empress, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟑 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚, 𝐽𝑢𝑛𝑒 4, 1951 - 𝐴𝑢𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑡 3, 2011 & The Legend of the Lambda, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝟑 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 5, 1943 - 𝐹𝑒𝑏𝑟𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 7, 2024.

As well as 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟑 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐞, 𝐴𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑙 20, 1950 - 𝑀𝑎𝑦 18, 1994 & 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟑 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐲, 𝐽𝑢𝑙𝑦 27, 1945 - 𝐴𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑙 1990.

Celebrating the nation's 200th anniversary, the city also celebrated the election of Chuck Anderson and Billie Cassandra as Emperor and Empress III. This was an election year in the United States, and Billie and Chuck brought further credibility to the Court by sending 5 delegates to the 1976 Democratic National Convention in New York City to help the National Gay Task Force lobby for a Gay Rights Platform.

These monarchs are also responsible for the formation of a Barony for the Empire. They proclaimed that Colorado Springs was granted the right to form an organization with its heads of state carrying the titles of Count and Countess of Southern Colorado. Within a year of its establishment, and with the consent of the Privy Council, this organization could become a Court with its own Empire. The maturity of the Court in the Gay Communities of Northern and Southern Colorado was evidenced by this bold step.

This year also proved to be a very sports oriented one with the theme of the PR Ball being Think Orange, also the theme of the Denver Broncos football team. The PR Ball was held at the Albany Hotel. The winter ball, held at the Hilton Hotel, had a theme of Winter Wonderland. Held at the Oxford, the King of Hearts Ball celebrated the theme of Mardi Gras.

The lines of succession became more and more involved with the reign. The Empresss line consisted of Princess Royale, Causha Lee; Queen Mother (for Life) Lola, Grand Duchess Lee Sommers, (later passed to Tommi Lynn); Czarina Mary Kupfer and Marquessa, Rhonda. The Emperors line of succession included, Prince Royale, Mark Bovay; Grand Duke, Bill Olson; Czar Lon Marfel and Marquis, Todd Fowler.

The 3rd Emperor and Empress both agreed that they would present their permanent title to an extremely worthy supporter of the Court System. They named Linda Rose as Imperial Princess to All Emperors and Chief Advisor to All Empresses for Life.

On April 16, 1977, Coronation IV Everythings Coming Up Roses, an appropriate salute to the 3rd Reign, was held and thus began Reign 4.

From the Archives of Emperor 5 Bill Olson:

The ICRME celebrates the Anniversary of the 3's. The 40th year anniversary of the 13th Monarchs & PR's. Our 13th Empress & Princess Royale are no longer with us, but their Imperial partners are still working hard within our organization.

The Beauty of the Crystal, The Crystal Goddess Empress, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟏𝟑 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧, 𝐽𝑢𝑙𝑦 24, 1959 - 𝐽𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 15, 2017 & The Legend of the Crystal Sword, The Crystal Sword Emperor, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟑 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬. As well as 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟏𝟑 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭 deceased & 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟏𝟑 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐊𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞.

The Thirteenth reign was anything, but unlucky in spite of it's number! The city that chose two dynamic people to serve as the leaders of the Court and a new energy, was evident during the entire reign of Emperor and Empress XIII, Chuck Bates and Chenelle Austin.

During the Thirteenth Reign, Emperor XIII and Empress XIII made a very attractive couple and because they were constantly together, they were often referred to as the Barbie & Ken of ICRME, in fun. These two individuals had no problem with the loving nick-name and, on occasion, went out of their way to make sure no one would forget their camp title. This reign was also much respected in that the Thirteenth Empress has been the only monarch in the history of the Court to wear the State Crown at another courts coronation. Emperor Thirteen, Chuck, is also the 3rd ICRME Emperor to be selected for the International Court of Emperors. The Mayor of Denver, Frederico Pena, attended Chuck and Chenelle's stepping down, along with the other candidates who, at that time, were vying for the office of Mayor.

Chuck and Chenelle were both consistent throughout their year with their themes for their major functions. All three of their functions were held at the Downtown Radisson. The PR Ball had the theme of Land of Make Believe. The Snow Ball theme was An Evening at the Crystal Palace, while the King of Hearts Ball was called Beneath the Crystal Palace.

The Thirteenth Reign was another blessed with an industrious Imperial Family. For the Empress, there was her Princes Royale, Roxie LaMont; Queen Mother, Pearl DeVere; Grand Duchess, Ashley Novak; Czarina, Morgana; and Marquessa, Lucy LaRue. The Emperor was helped by his Prince Royale, Vince Kline; King Father, Ron Heath; Grand Duke, Jerry Harrel; Czar, Reggie Grove; and Marquis, Myron. Both monarchs presented permanent titles at the close of their reign. Once again, the permanent titles were awarded to outstanding Court Members during this reign, as well as being recognized for work done during earlier reigns. Emperor Chuck, presented Reggie Grove as the Imperial Prince of Hearts for Life. Empress Chenelle made Brandi Roberts Grand Dame to all Empresses for Life.

The Downtown Radisson was the scene of a Journey to the Land of Enchantment on April 11, 1987, closing out this lovely year of beauty and energy. Maintaining the grace and dignity which was their signature, the Thirteeth Reign welcomed the new reign, Fourteen.

From the Archives of Emperor 5 Bill Olson:

The Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire celebrates the Anniversary year of the 3's. The 30th Anniversary Monarchs & the 30th Anniversary PR's are:

The Serenity of the Crystal, The Rainbow Empress of Pride, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟑 𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐬 & The Legend of the Black Stallion, The Black Stallion Emperor, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟑 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞. As well as 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟑 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐉 & 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟑 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥.

In a record-breaking voter turnout, Emperor XXIII Reggie Grove and Empress XXIII Sydney Andrews became the duly elected Monarchs of Court year 23. With the creed of Diversity and Pride they set out to be compassionate, hard working and charitable leaders of our Community. They accomplished that and more. They were the Monarchs who co-captained a team for the AIDS walk, who became the first Empress to speak at the Pridefest Rally, raised over $2,000 for the annual CAP Thanksgiving Food Drive. Contributed over $3,000 to the Human Rights Campaign Fund and were the first to be actively involved in the Pink Ribbon Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness. They were also the Monarchs to host the first annual Triple Decade Show, now an annual Board of Directors event celebrating the ten and twenty year Anniversary Monarchies of the ICRME. In a spectacular evening, three generations of the Monarchy came together on on stage to benefit the White Rose Scholarship Fund.

The State Functions of the 23rd reign were elegant and successful as well. PR Ball was a Grand Ole Opry theme while Snow Ball was Imperial Russia and King of Hearts was a pirate theme complete with full ship on stage!

Lines of succession are an important part of any reign and the 23rd was no exception. They includedPrince and Princess Royale, Tom J. and Coco Chanel; Grand; Grand Duke and Grand Dutchess, Richard Siemers and Jackie Summers; Czar and Czarina, Tony Yost and Kir Royale; Marquis and Marquessa, Tim Fasse and Alexis Del Rey and Don and Reina, Firtz Trujillo and Jazzanne Capri as well as numerous other hard working Court members. Reggie passed along his previous permanent title of Prince of Hearts to Richard Siemers.

The storybook reign of 23 came to a close at The Regency with Mardi Gras Down Under and made way for the 24th reign.

There are many perceptions of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire (ICRME) and we have heard just about all of them. But out of all of the things you might have heard, is your perception an accurate one? Is it one of grandeur and parades, of performances and entertainment or is one of philanthropic work, continued education based programs and community involvement. Well, all of these things are correct and are part of ICRME's rich history. For Thirty-four years, ICRME has been actively involved in the communities of Northern Colorado through fund raising, education, raising awareness to social and political issues and performing noble deeds. Hundreds and Thousands of dollars are raised by members of ICRME along with members of our communities every year to assist those in need and most of that is done under the leadership of two individuals. The community elects every April; one week before ICRME's Coronation Ball.

Being elected Emperor or Empress of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire provided us with some amazing opportunities to serve you during our year as well as provided some unprecedented moments and memories for a lifetime. During our year, we saw Monarchs on the covers of publications, announced Denver's 2006 Gay Pride Parade and Family Day and volunteered with C.A.P.'s Art for Life. Thousands of Dollars of product was donated to Urban Peak for direct use in their facility and its clients and ICRME contributed a successful team to AIDS Walk Colorado. Through the White Rose Scholarship Fund, a branch of this organization, $13,000 in Continued Education Scholarships will be awarded. We traveled to over 14 cities and networked with others in charitable based fields and learned from each other. ICRME was recognized at the Gender Identity Center's annual convention "Gold Rush" as the Friend to the G.I.C.'s Organization of the Year.

Snowball 2006, Wishes of a Celtic Winter, A Force of Nature, actively though out the community raised approximately $16,000 in funds and products donated to its charities; Urban Peak and the Colorado AIDS Project.
King of Hearts 2007, GOTHAM, A Force of the Mind brought creativity and whimsy to an entertaining evening introducing three candidates for the offices of Emperor and Empress ###IV.

Coronation 34, HEAVEN, A Force To Be Reckoned With, brought in over 400 participants, including the presence of the new titular head of the International Court System, Empress Nicole the Great, Queen Mother of the Americas. Two Heirs Apparent to Empress Nicole were named from Denver that evening; Empress XXIII Sydney Andrews and Emperor ###III Michael Vrooman.

We have forged and continued many relationships with those in our community and are extremely proud of the accomplishments of the Organization as a whole with our communities. It is important to remember that you elect the position of Emperor and Empress. We took that seriously as community servants. We worked with you and for you and it was an honor and a privilege. As the elected monarchs of reign 43, we were excited to have opportunity to serve our community. After the initial pomp and circumstance of crowning had come to a close, the reality of our responsibilities set in and we began planning our year. Although we raised funds for various charities, our main focus was homeless adults at the Saint Francis Center, the youth of Rainbow Alley and Urban Peak. Leading with grace, compassion, and respect, we worked to build bridges with bars and businesses, the Latin community, and LGBT youth to encourage involvement. Learning to compromise and face the challenges before us contributed to our success. It was those challenges that helped us learn and grow, trust in ourselves and love each other.

One of our biggest accomplishments was the support of Rainbow Alley LGBT youth. The Center provides a drop in program with many activities for gay youth, a safe environment where students can thrive without judgement, a place to make friends and develop a comradery, and share their life stories with those who have similar struggles. We were each presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award for our support and monetary contributions that benefited Rainbow Alley youth. In addition, we visited and spoke with a group of GSA students at one of the local colleges, providing them information about our organization and extending invitations for them to attend ICRME events. We also solicited sponsorship for students to attend the events at no cost to them. We were very pleased to see so many young people in attendance, feeling comfortable with whom they are.

Our line of succession was most valuable in helping us succeed in our mission to make our community a better place. We worked together as a team, exchanging ideas for ways to make fundraising fun and enjoyable for all. A heart felt thank you to Pablo Chavira, Alexandria Douglas, Abraham Sanchez, Sofelya Amor, Drew Juarez, Isaias Ramirez, Angel Sexton, LaLa Shearz, Anna Rexik, Josh Estvez, Alanna Filipina, Geoffrey LeCher, Cierra Mota LeCher, Prince Royale Bryan Monroe, and Princess Royale Jackie O.

Grand Duke Geoffrey LeCher, Grand Duchess Cierra Mota LeCher, Prince Royale Bryan Monroe, Princess Royale Jackie O, were awarded permanent titles and inducted into the College of Cardinals for their outstanding service during reign 43.

We traveled to many coronations making a number of friends along the way and will treasure those memories in our hearts forever. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunities that being monarchs affords. We have become part of a family like no other.

Surrounded by a fire winged angel, a white tiger, flowers and vines, we celebrated An Enchanted Night in the Garden Royalty, bringing our final night as reigning monarchs to a magical conclusion. We extend our thanks to the College of Monarchs, College of Cardinals and our community for their love and support during our reign.
