Our Youth for Food Justice members have been out in the community all season visiting farms, tending community gardens, and volunteering at food pantries!

Young people are too often left out of the conversations that shape their communities. But their ideas and energy drives real change. This group of compassionate, fun, and wise youth are always ready to take action.

Know a young person (ages 11-18) who lives, goes to school, works, or has any connection to Jeffco and cares about food justice? We welcome them to join us as we build community power together, starting with our youngest leaders.

We worked hard to make this happen- and now it’s official! Jeffco Public Schools is the first school district in Colorado to offer a School Food Advisory Committee.

We’re looking for community members to apply and help advise the school district if selected to join. This is an opportunity to collaborate with others and make sure community voices are heard when it comes to the food served in our schools.

Interested in getting involved? Apply by Friday, August 28th! Let us know if you need any help applying.

Part of JCFPC’s work is helping bring community members together to support better school food in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Healthy School Action meetings are a space for people who care about making sure Jeffco students have access to healthy, culturally meaningful, and more diverse food options at school.

Want to get involved? DM us or contact Javier at [email protected] to join an upcoming Healthy School Action meeting. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation and help create positive change!

COME CELEBRATE HALLIE!!!

For the past four years, Hallie has poured her heart into building a Council that is community-led and grounded in principles of equity and justice. Her leadership has strengthened relationships across our local food system and helped shape more connected, collaborative work throughout Jefferson County.

From supporting cultural recipes in school food pilots, to organizing collaborative fundraisers for food pantries, to helping navigate the complex realities of food insecurity, Hallie’s impact will continue to ripple through this community for years to come.

As she steps into her next adventure, she leaves us with stronger partnerships, inspiration, and hope for the future.

Join us for a Food Justice Happy Hour to celebrate Hallie on her last day as Executive Director of the Jefferson County Food Policy Council!
