It offers a cosmology, a psychology, insights into physics and the biology of spiritual practice. This tradition is unique in that it aims to include the mind, body, and feelings in the development of consciousness and self-knowledge to bring into our daily lives.

Man lives in life under the law of accident and under two kinds of influences again governed by accident. The first kind are influences created in life itself or by life itself. {Influences of race, nation, country, climate, family, education, society, profession, manners and customs, wealth, poverty, current ideas, and so on.} The second kind are influences created outside this life, influences of the inner circle, or esoteric influences— influences, that is, created under different laws, although also on the earth.

"Physical sensation of himself allows a man, at any moment, to know what his attitude is and what his activity is, and eventually to have control over them; hence its fundamental importance in the search for self-knowledge."

Observe a tension in your body. Sense the tension and stay with it for a few moments, invite it to relax. Then try to observe a full picture of yourself, your state.

"It is difficult to have a voluntary sensation. In life nothing brings an inner sensation except a rare blow like great sorrow or danger. If nothing forces me I have no sensation of my existence."

"I learn to purify my power of seeing, not by dismissing what is undesirable or turning away and settling on the agreeable. I learn to see everything without refusing the details."

Can you attentively observe the sensation of your body? Try noticing when attention wanders and sensation is lost.

“We are not One”, do you see this?

"My feeling does not experience what my head thinks, and my head does not think what my body senses. Their intensity is different, and they do not have a common aim. They are occupied personally, each for itself with its own desire...”

"Energy is spent chiefly on unnecessary and unpleasant emotions, on the expectation of unpleasant things, on bad moods, on unnecessary haste, nervousness, irritability, and so on."

Observe your first thought upon awakening. Be present to the sensation it invokes.

“When do you do a thing do it with all self. One thing at a time. Now I sit here and I eat. For me nothing exist in the world except this food, this table. I eat with whole attention. So you must do in everything.“

When both the mind and the body are entirely still, there is neither thought nor movement . . . only fact, only what is, fact without pleasure or pain. This experience of fact can never be mechanical. Fact teaches us. For a moment I am no longer the same. My freed attention, my consciousness, then knows what I am essentially.
