For more than a decade, Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center has helped ensure Sun Valley neighbors have access to nourishing food and a caring community. Through our No-Cost Grocery Program, households receive fresh groceries, prepared meals, and a place to connect with neighbors.

We hosted our first Aging Adult Bingo event yesterday afternoon, and what a fun afternoon it was! Thank you to everyone who joined us to connect over a little friendly competition, complete with prizes, plenty of laughs, and great company. Join us next Thursday at 3pm!

Floyd, our newest youth employee and a longtime participant in both our No-Cost Grocery Program and Kids Cooking Class, has been spending his summer mornings working in the kitchen. Today, he had the honor of feeding Michelangelo, proving that some summer jobs come with better employee perks than others 😉🐢

This week, we hosted our first Older Adult Mixer with residents of Flo Apartments!

The gathering was an opportunity to connect with neighbors, build new relationships, and most importantly, hear directly from older adults about the programs and activities they’d like to see in our space. From social gatherings and wellness activities to opportunities for learning and community building, participants shared ideas that will help shape future programming.

We’re excited to continue creating spaces where older adults can connect, belong, and build community together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their voices! Join us next Thursday at 3pm for BINGO!

Designed through surveys, focus groups, neighborhood outreach, and guidance from the Sun Valley Urban Farm Advisory Group, this future community space reflects the ideas, priorities, and dreams shared by Sun Valley residents.

From fresh food production and pollinator gardens to gathering spaces, educational programming, and paid opportunities for youth and community members, the Urban Farm is being built by community, for community.

Stay tuned as we move toward construction in 2026 and full programming in 2027!

Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center is looking for an Urban Farm Manager to help bring the Sun Valley Urban Farm to life — a community-led space rooted in food access, youth empowerment, environmental stewardship, and neighborhood connection.

This role will help shape everything from crop production and community education to youth engagement, volunteer coordination, and resident-led programming as we build a vibrant urban farm in the heart of Sun Valley.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about food justice, community building, and growing alongside the neighborhood. 🌻

✨ $52,000–$55,000/year + benefits
✨ Tuesday–Saturday schedule
