When you cater from Sun Valley Kitchen, all profits from our social enterprise restaurant support the programs and operations of Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center, a nonprofit serving the Sun Valley community in West Denver.

From this kitchen, we prepare meals that power our No-Cost Grocery Program, Kids Cooking Classes, and youth employment programs, ensuring that every dish we create extends its impact well beyond our doors.

From private celebrations to office gatherings, Sun Valley Kitchen offers fresh, made-from-scratch catering with options for every palate, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes.

In the spirit of harvest season, we wanted to shout out one of our fantastic community partners.

Denver Botanic Gardens grows more than 30 varieties of produce using organic and regenerative practices on a half acre of urban land in the Sun Valley neighborhood. Produce is distributed through 30 free farm stands during the season, one of which is right here in Sun Valley.

On Thursdays during grow season, neighborhood residents are invited to come help themselves to free, locally-grown produce. Thank you Denver Botanic Gardens for supporting food access in Sun Valley!

Each month, we host the Sun Valley Community Coalition, our registered neighborhood organization (RNO).

Jeanne, our RNO President, brings together a host of partners, services, and speakers while creating space for community discussion. Our Sun Valley neighbors always show up for a meal, lively conversation, and an opportunity to share ideas about how we can all make Sun Valley an even better place to live.

This month, our founder Glenn prepared a special menu inspired by the life of Dolly Parton. Because around here, community, good food, and a little bit of Dolly are always a pretty good combination. 💕🌟

Join our Book Harvest! Bring in your books and get 5% off your order! Throughout October, donate books at any Queen City Coffee Collective to help stock the library for our Sun Valley Urban Farm.

We're looking for books on plants, gardens, composting, sustainable agriculture, healthy cooking, and more.

Our goal is for Sun Valley's Urban Farm to provide food AND education. Books in our Urban Farm library will be a complementary resource to all of the education opportunities at the farm.

Denver, you raised nearly $60,000 for families in Sun Valley! 💙

Earlier this summer, we were honored to be featured on the Word of Thanks segment on Next with Kyle Clark and were blown away with the generosity of the Denver community. More than 200 donors came together and gave nearly $60,000 to support our No Cost Grocery Program.

Every gift, from $5 to $500, helps us continue to serve 50-60 families in Sun Valley every week. We're so grateful to Kyle Clark, the 9NEWS (KUSA) News team, and every Colorado neighbor who chipped in.

Sun Valley Kitchen in West Denver received nearly $60,000 through a statewide campaign to bolster its grocery program and services amid rising neighborhood demand.

they say it takes a village, and boy are we grateful for ours! While FreshFoodConnect supplies neighbors across Denver with gorgeous abundance from local home gardens, our friends at Denver Food Rescue make sure it finds a good home with our neighbors in Sun Valley! Yesterday We were treated to a visit from Max, their volunteer coordinator, and Noah, a former DFR intern who decided to spend some time with us!

While we enjoyed all the colors and prepped our bags for distribution, the kitchen was busy fixing up the 120 meals we serve for the program.

We couldn’t make this happen without our partners listed above, our partners nearby like Steff Grogan , and we’d be remiss to leave out our killer partners around the block like EarthLinks and Denver Botanic Gardens . We love harvest season, and we love our community!

Last night, our Herbal Series explored comfrey, also known as “knitbone,” a plant with a long history in traditional herbalism.

We learned about its traditional uses, made our own herbal salves, and got hands-on with the process. Everyone left with a salve made especially for them during the class.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of learning, making, and connecting with our community.
