Registration is now OPEN for RIHEL's Coaching Academy!
A comprehensive core coaching skills training and experience that builds a strong foundation in coaching competencies and practice. This eight-month program includes 86 hours of coaching-specific training and 10 hours of mentor coaching. The RIHEL Coaching Academy is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH) and provides a direct pathway to an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential. Applications are now open for RIHEL's Advanced Leadership Training Program (ALTP)!

For over 20 years, ALTP has helped health and environment professionals increase their leadership effectiveness and potential through engaging and enriching learning experiences. This year-long program provides participants with a foundation of exemplary leadership practices, the importance of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in leadership, focused assessments, practical skills development, and opportunities to expand their professional network.

The 2023 ALTP Cohort will follow the calendar year, January through October 2023 and includes THREE 3-day in-person events plus SIX one-day virtual sessions. This new schedule provides consistent connection to the program, the learning and the participant network while leveraging the best of both the in-person and virtual learning environments.

Congratulations to all the amazing RIHEL Award Winners at the Colorado Public Health Association’s 2021 Public Health in the Rockies Conference in Keystone, Colorado last week, including our very own Kathy Kennedy! Kathy was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award which honors a retired individual in public health for their significant contributions and leadership in public health.

This year’s award winners include several RIHEL Graduates and one ALTP 2022 Participant: Kim Boyd, Dawn Comstock, Grace Franklin, Heath Harmon, Meagan Hillman, Dawn James, Liane Jollon, Yvonne Long, Karen O’Brien, Jordana Sabella, and Jason Vahling.

The Regional Institute for Health and Environmental Leadership (RIHEL) and the Colorado Environmental Health Association (CEHA) are co-hosting the annual Leadership Is for Everyone (LIFE) event! This 17th annual leadership education program is taking place as a 3-day interactive virtual series in April:

April 16, 2021 | 9:00am – 12:30pm (MT)
Transcending the Unknown: Becoming more resilient in the face of challenges and changes, presented by Kari Knutson. This engaging and timely presentation focuses on the value and importance of shifting perspectives, cultivating courage, and harnessing the power of compassion, especially given the significant world changes since March of 2020. Take away practical and actionable ideas that you can start using immediately.

Compassion Fatigue & Burnout Prevention, presented by Howard Baumgarten. Expand your awareness and understanding of compassion fatigue and burnout risks in the workplace, while learning how to manage symptoms, and prevent fatigue and burnout through applied cognitive, behavioral, and emotional interventions. Through exercises and breakout discussion, you will also take steps to develop your own written “Burnout Prevention/Burn-up Invention Plan.”
