Wondering how some of the most profitable bars in Denver put the building blocks into place to make that money?

Join us at Denver titan Improper City as we welcome Austin Hay, General Manager, and Andrew Safian-Demers, Bar Manager for an intimate look into what it takes to build a profitable business. Curating beneficial relationships with buyers and reps, costing and building a menu to best support your guests and business, and all the ins and outs of staying in the black in this economy.

Email [email protected] for full details of what’s expected, but as a fully volunteer based board, we keep commitments as minimal as possible while still growing our chapter as much as possible.

COBG will reimburse all applicants for the $9 fee for background checks required by USBG.

In partnership with Bulleit Frontier Wh***ey and Hotel Alpenrock/Sage Hospitality, COBG is excited to offer our active members an escape into the mountains.

We will meet at 12pm noon on Monday August 31st at the 38th and Blake Park and Ride before car pooling caravan style to the beautiful Hotel Alpenrock in Breckenridge.

Once we get settled into rooms, we will enjoy an afternoon and evening of wh***ey education, a fabulous dinner and Breckenridge nightlife, all hosted by Bulleit Frontier Wh***ey Regional Brand Ambassador Leilani Howard and her Colorado team.

We will have time to relax and soak up the mountain vibes, before returning the morning of September 01st in time for Tuesday service schedules.

This event is ONLY open to current, paid COBG/USBG members and the registration form must be completed by the RSVP deadline in order to be included. Link to form attached in RSVP.

Double occupancy accommodations, dinner, and nightlife activities are free of cost thanks to Bulleit, Hotel Alpenrock and COBG. Single occu[ancy rooms available for a small fee. Details in registration form.

Sunday August 16th, 2026 for the series finale of the Spotlight Series at Adventure Time Bar, COBG President Becky Rose will present Creeporado: A Guide to the Wild and Wacky Festivals and Folklore of Colorado. Two lucky winners, thanks to the generosity of Bulleit Frontier Wh***ey, will join the festivities and enjoy a 5 course paired storytelling extravaganza.

Join COBG and Aspen Vodka for a night enjoying America’s favorite pastime: eating hotdogs and maybe watching some baseball.

Pre Game Happy Hour open to everyone at 5pm at Wh***ey Bar hosted by Aspen Vodka and COBG. Drinks, laughs, and community. Unlimited spots, but RSVP required. Link in Bio

Immediately following Happy Hour, 10 people will join us at the Rockies v. Dodgers game for some home runs and hot dogs.
Space limited to 10 people.

You do not need to be an active member to RSVP, but active COBG members will be given priority for tickets. Meet Megan Sparks:

Megan Sparks is the Central Region Brand Ambassador for Johnnie Walker. She began bartending in college, moved on to running cocktail bars in her twenties, and for the past 11 years has represented some of the industry’s most beloved spirits—Fernet‑Branca, The Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder, Hendrick’s, and now Johnnie Walker. Trained as an art student, she blends creativity with hospitality and is a 200‑hour certified yogi who teaches free yoga to her bartender friends. As a bartender at heart, Megan is endlessly curious about spirits and cocktail culture. Her ten‑year goal is to write a book about hot toddies. Outside of the industry, she is passionate about health, dancing, the outdoors, and building a life rich in intention and joy.
