We know sending your child to camp is a big decision, and safety is one of the biggest priorities for families. Here are answers to some of the most common questions parents have before camp: 👇
How are campers supervised throughout the day? 👀
Campers are supervised by staff at all times during their session. Attendance and headcounts are taken throughout the day during meals, activities, and transitions across campus to ensure every camper is accounted for.
Is there medical staff on-site? 👩⚕️
Yes. The Health Center is available 24/7 during camp sessions and staffed by nurses to support camper health, wellness, and safety throughout their stay.
What happens if my child needs medication? 💊
Campers can absolutely bring medication to camp. All medications are safely stored and administered by camp staff, with completed medication forms submitted through CampDoc before arrival.
What happens in case of an emergency? 🚨
KMC has emergency procedures in place for severe weather, fires, medical situations, and other emergencies. Staff regularly practice drills, and families are contacted immediately if a serious situation occurs.
What are the staff qualifications?🤓
All staff complete CPR and First Aid training, mandatory child abuse reporting training, body safety training, behavior management training, and conflict resolution training. Staff also complete multiple background checks through the State of Colorado.
What is the camper-to-staff ratio? 🫡
PASS Camp at KMC targets a 10:1 camper-to-staff ratio, meeting and exceeding Colorado childcare requirements.
