Cole Neighborhood Association (CNA)

Cole Neighborhood Association (CNA) The Registered Neighborhood Association for the Cole neighborhood, in Denver, Colorado. More than half of the residential blocks were developed prior to 1900.

The Cole neighborhood, which became part of the city in 1874, stretches from 32nd Avenue to 40th Avenue and from York Street to Downing Street. Cole Junior High School and the neighborhood itself are named after Carlos M. Cole, a superintendent of Denver's Public Schools who was instrumental in establishing junior high schools in Denver. Several historic buildings remain, like the cleanly designed

red brick and sandstone Wyatt School on 3620 Franklin Street, built in 1887 and named after its former principal George W. Wyatt.

Despite strong indicators that Cole deserves a Neighborhood Plan, the City and County of Denver has not included it in its list of 13 neighborhoods being brought forward for Phase 4 of Neighborhood Planning. One of our neighborhood schools may be closing. There will be public comment tomorrow, February 8 at Wyatt Academy for those who can attend.

Es posible que una de las escuelas de nuestro vecindario esté cerrando. Habrá comentarios públicos mañana 8 de febrero en Wyatt Academy para aquellos que puedan venir.

Families and faculty were surprised to learn Wyatt Academy, a Denver Public Schools charter school, will close at the end of the school year.

Hey all,

I literally just received this email an hour ago. I know it's short notice. I attended the major's meeting last week on homelessness as I mentioned in my email last week. He did mention he was going to try to meet with all neighborhood associations over the next year at that meeting. I didn't know it would be this quickly. In any case, they wanted me to share this out with our group.

Totally understand if you can't attend but I will definitely represent and report out on some of his plans, many of which have been reported in the media.

Thanks,

Mark
