Foothills Young Marines Foothills was the first Young Marine Charter in Colorado This organization supports a drug free life, accountability, discipline, leadership and teamwork.

Upon joining a local Young Marine unit, youth undergo a 10-week orientation / training program, generally spread out over several weekly meetings. This program is affectionately has been called "Boot Camp” but is truly a training period for the program. The youth learn general subjects such as history, customs and courtesies, close order drill, physical fitness, and military rank structure. After graduating from Young Marine "Boot Camp", the youth have the opportunity to learn more new skills, earn rank, wear the Young Marine uniform and work toward ribbon awards. Young Marines earn ribbons for achievement in areas such as leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid and drug resistance education. With rank and age, the Young Marines are eligible to participate in the SPACES program which offers incredible opportunities.

🇺🇸 From Recruits to Confident Voices! 🇺🇸
As young Marine recruits, learning to stand up, speak clearly, and address your peers is all part of becoming a stronger leader. This weekend, they took on the challenge of delivering their very first PSA (Public Service Announcement) stepping outside their comfort zones and speaking with confidence.

🎤 Great job on your first time! This is just the beginning of developing the courage, confidence, and communication skills that will serve you throughout your journey.

Proud of the effort, the teamwork, and the willingness to step up and be heard. Keep growing, keep learning, and keep leading! 💪🇺🇸

For this week’s , we are highlighting our longest-serving current staff member at Foothills, Ms. Hanagan. She has been an adult volunteer since February 2015!

As a member of our staff, she has dedicated more than 1,700 hours to our unit. During the week, she is a teacher, and here at Foothills, she serves as our dedicated tutor. Her efforts have helped countless Young Marines improve their academics and reach their goals.

Ms. Hanagan has also been instrumental in supporting the unit during many September 11th memorial events.

We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, service, and continued commitment to our Young Marines! 🇺🇸
