Did you know , commonly referred to as School-based Health Centers (SBHC), served over 15,000 students in 2023? They offer:

🫶 19 locations within schools and virtual care options allowing a student to connect with an SBHC provider from the school nurse’s office.

🫶 An option for parents to join a student’s virtual visit from work or home.

🫶 Medical, dental and behavioral health services.

🫶 Services for all Denver Public Schools students and their siblings at no cost.

As we wrap up February and School-based Health Center Awareness Month, we give a shout out to the medical teams at 19 Denver Public Schools. Under the direction of Denver Health and Denver Health Pediatrics at Denver Public Schools, every DPS student - and their siblings – can receive comprehensive care. When they are feeling sick, having a bad day, or even having a toothache, the caring teams in the school-based health centers are there, seeing more than 17,000 students last year alone. Dr. Sandra Cherabie recently spoke to Great Day Colorado about what makes the health centers so unique and so very necessary.
