The Moebius Syndrome Foundation Medical Travel Reimbursement program helps offset the cost of traveling (flights, hotel, other expenses) to medical appointments and procedures within the United States. Individuals with Moebius syndrome and their families, residing in the United States, are eligible to apply and receive medical travel reimbursements of up to $2,000, twice. This program helps remove financial barriers to receiving consultations and treatments from preferred healthcare providers.

Don’t let the cost of travel expenses prevent you or your child from getting the medical care needed.

All applications must be received at least 30 days prior to the medical appointment or procedure. Apply now: https://bit.ly/MSFTravel or contact us at [email protected] for more information.

In the latest MSF Career Pathway article, Alli Johnson openly shares about her journey with bullying, mental health challenges, learning to eat solid food in her 20s, having a speech impairment, and navigating the difficulty of finding a job.

Alli said that as much as she believes no child should have to experience what she did back then, it’s given her incredible strength, perseverance and drive to live her life to the fullest. As Alli has gotten older, she has worked on herself, gone to therapy, and started mental health medication. She’s really solid in who she is as a person and what she values in life, and wants others to know that life has gotten so much better.

Alan and Dana became Sustaining Members in honor of their grandson. Dana shared with us, “Our grandson Jackson has Moebius syndrome, and to honor him and his incredible parents, we support the good work the Moebius Syndrome Foundation performs: spreading awareness, supporting research, and providing encouragement and support to the entire Moebius community. And making our gifts automatically each month is just so easy. We set it up once, it just took a couple of minutes, and that was it.”

Save the Date! Join us for From the Heart: A Mother’s Day Gathering for Moms in the Moebius Community.

This hour-long special virtual event will bring together moms from across our community for an open, honest conversation about the journey of raising a child with Moebius syndrome. We’ll hear from three panelists - a mom of an adult, a teen, and an elementary-aged child - sharing their experiences, insights, and perspectives at different stages.

This will be a relaxed, supportive space with time for Q&A, connection, and conversation. We hope to see you there!

We continue celebrating Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM) throughout the month of April to raise awareness, promote access to proper care and support, and make sure individuals with limb loss and limb difference feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Approximately 42% of individuals with Moebius syndrome are born with clubfoot where one or both feet turn strongly inward and downward, affecting muscles, tendons, and bones. Thanks to medical advancements, there are now nonsurgical treatments available to correct the position of the feet.

Image Description: Navy blue background with an orange awareness ribbon in the upper left corner with on it. The text at the top says, “Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month April 2026”. Three square pictures show baby Isaac with his clubfoot, casts, and leg braces. “Isaac was born with severe clubfoot. It has now been corrected about 95% and he started walking on his own on his 3rd birthday.” White Moebius Syndrome Foundation logo in lower left corner.

Get a Limited Edition Car Magnet - Only in April! 🚗

Become a recurring monthly donor to the Moebius Syndrome Foundation in April for $20 or more per month, and we will send you a limited edition Making a Difference for Moebius magnet as a small token of our gratitude. Put the magnet on your car or mailbox to spread awareness.

Make a difference every month by helping the Foundation's programs grow; programs like our conferences, scholarship opportunities, advocacy and awareness initiatives, educational resources, medical travel reimbursement, research grants, regional and virtual events...none of these would exist without our supporters.

For every dollar raised in 2025, 79% directly supported programs, scholarships, and medical research for the Moebius community. The remaining 21% for general operations made it possible for us to not only "keep the lights on," but expand our mission. With your support we can continue to improve the lives of people living with Moebius syndrome and support their families.

April is celebrated as Autism Acceptance Month (formerly Awareness Month) to increase understanding, foster inclusion, and support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We want to shift from simply promoting awareness to fostering acceptance, ensuring better support and inclusion for the autistic community.

With 1 in 36 children diagnosed with ASD, this month emphasizes the need for specialized education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Recent research shows that about 10% of children born with Moebius syndrome are diagnosed with ASD.

For more information about Autism Acceptance Month, visit https://autismsociety.org/

Embrace differences and spread understanding.” Colorful infinity symbol under the text. White Moebius Syndrome Foundation logo in lower right corner.
