We continue celebrating four decades of solidarity, and this time, we are celebrating the Austin–Guajoyo Sister City relationship. 🇸🇻🤝🇺🇸

The community of Guajoyo is an inspiring example of community organizing and collective work. Through their efforts around water access, they have strengthened the community’s ability to provide families with this vital resource. 💦🌱

Sister City relationships remind us that solidarity is built through organizing, accompaniment, and a shared commitment between communities. ❤️

We continue our 40th Anniversary Celebration!!

The Romero Interfaith Center of Philadelphia celebrates sistering with Las Anonas de Santa Cruz! While two delegations visited community members in November of 1990 in the mountains of Usulutan where they sought refuge during the war, we observe our official sistering anniversary as the day Las Anonas received the title to their land on April 18, 1991.

As they built their community on their own land, we accompanied and supported their development, together building our relationship as well as houses, latrines, and the church.

Over the years, we have learned much about organizing from our partners in Las Anonas; through our sharing and delegations, we have come to know about the critical issues of food insecurity caused by climate change and health risks as a result of sugarcane cultivation practices.Their organized response to these crises give us strength to continue in hard times.

We celebrate our past and commit to strengthening our bonds of sistering for future generations.

We are grateful to CRIPDES for inviting us to be part of their 42nd Anniversary and Annual Assembly. It was an honor to join them for this important occasion and celebrate many years of organizing, solidarity, and collective work.

We reaffirm our commitment to continuing to strengthen our relationship and working together for the well-being and rights of rural communities in El Salvador.

🤝 We look forward to continuing to walk this path together and strengthening our solidarity!

This month, we’re honoring the incredible Chicago–Cinquera Sister City Committee and the bonds of solidarity, friendship, and collective action they have built over the years.

For 40 years, our sister cities have shown us that solidarity can cross borders and bring communities together. 🌎🤝

Thank you, Chicago–Cinquera, for being part of this journey! Here’s to many more years of solidarity and resistance. ✊🏽
