A new mural at the Far East Center in Little Saigon Denver CO. Little Saigon District honors the family behind the historic shopping center, celebrating their legacy, cultural heritage and resilience. 🎨

Unveiled last month during the Far East Center’s annual Mid-Autumn Festival, the mural was made possible through a DURA C-STAND grant awarded to Truong An Gifts, a longtime, family-owned business in the heart of Westwood.

Created by artist Chad Bolsinger, the mural honors three women who helped build and sustain the Far East Center alongside their families. Through symbolic lotus flowers, bamboo, cherry blossoms and a flowing waterfall, the artwork tells a story of sacrifice, strength and the immigrant experience while celebrating the generations who have contributed to the neighborhood’s identity.

Projects like this are exactly what DURA is proud to support, celebrating local culture, honoring neighborhood history and creating more vibrant, welcoming spaces for the community.

The City and County of Denver Government has released its draft Burnham Yard Small Area Plan, outlining a vision for redevelopment across more than 800 acres surrounding the Denver Broncos’ proposed stadium site.

The plan identifies opportunities for new development, improved transportation connections and investments that support nearby neighborhoods and businesses.

That plays a critical part in DURA’s process as we explore utilizing potential urban renewal opportunities, including the use of tax increment financing (TIF) to support future redevelopment and public improvements.

The draft plan is now available for public review, with Denver City Council approval required before the Broncos can move forward with their stadium rezoning proposal.

Sometimes, a few key improvements can change how a place shows up for its community 🏘️

Celebration Community Church has been serving Denver’s Virginia Village neighborhood with its gathering space, community gardens, bike repair resources and partnerships that extend well beyond its walls. But with a limited budget, necessary improvements to the property weren’t always possible.

Through DURA’s C-STAND grant program, the church was able to invest in new signage and concrete repairs that gave the property a renewed presence, made it more welcoming for the neighbors and organizations that use it, and better reflected the community already established there.

Today, the DURA Board approved a resolution advancing The City and County of Denver's proposal to use future tax increment financing (TIF) resources to support the restoration of Sloan’s Lake.

The action builds on the success of the St. Anthony Urban Renewal Area and moves the proposal into its next phase. DURA can now begin conversations with the City and Denver Public Schools around the continued allocation of TIF, pursue an expansion of the urban renewal area to include Sloan’s Lake and bring the proposal before Denver City Council for consideration.

This is a meaningful opportunity to reinvest resources generated through successful redevelopment back into the community — supporting the long-term health of Sloan’s Lake and an asset that residents across the neighborhood use and enjoy.

We’re excited to keep this work moving forward with the City, DPS and the broader community.

Northeast Park Hill has seen the impact of thoughtful reinvestment before, and DURA is working to build on that progress.

Today, DURA announced plans to advance approximately $8.4 million in TIF reinvestment across Northeast Park Hill, putting remaining resources to work in support of the neighborhood’s current needs.

The proposed investment would help strengthen Northeast Park Hill for the long term by supporting local businesses and community-serving organizations, preserving and creating affordable housing, and unlocking properties where longstanding challenges have prevented redevelopment.

Following months of community engagement and independent analysis, DURA has identified seven projects for further consideration and will now begin due diligence before individual funding agreements return to the DURA Board of Commissioners for final approval.

“Let’s go build this city.”

For 25 years as DURA’s Executive Director, Tracy Huggins did exactly that.

From the redevelopment of the former Stapleton Airport and Lowry Air Force Base to the transformation of 16th Street and the former Gates rubber factory, Tracy’s leadership helped shape some of the most significant redevelopment projects in Denver’s history.

Her impact on our city, and on DURA, is difficult to overstate. Throughout her career, Tracy brought together the public and private sectors, navigated complex projects with integrity and helped establish DURA as a trusted partner in Denver’s growth.

We’re incredibly proud to see Tracy recognized by the Denver Business Journal and to have celebrated with her at last week's 2026 Outstanding Women in Business Awards.

Congratulations, Tracy, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for 25 years of leadership, service and dedication to building a stronger Denver.
