We are the leading and most trusted not-for-profit provider of life-enhancing hospice and palliative care in the Denver metro area.

The Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center at Lowry has 24 suites with patios. Our homelike setting is centrally located and includes such amenities as a family dining room and day rooms, a chapel, library and hydro-therapy spa outfitted with a salon-style basin. Gardens, walkways and high-tech innovations add to the light-filled ambiance and comforts of our state-of-the-art facility.

For 30 years, Keith Swingle has been a source of comfort, compassion, and support for patients, families, and colleagues at The Denver Hospice.

As a chaplain, Keith has walked alongside countless individuals during some of life's most challenging and meaningful moments. Guided by faith, family, and friends, he has spent three decades helping people find connection, peace, and purpose at the end of life.

"You're never alone doing this work," Keith says—a reflection of both his commitment to teamwork and the relationships that have sustained him throughout his career.

The Denver Hospice was honored to join The Spearly Center in kicking off Skilled Nursing Care Week with a joyful “Sip, Savor, & Bloom” tea party celebration for residents, families, staff, and community partners.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, conversation, music, sweet treats, games, and raffle giveaways that brought smiles to so many residents. We were grateful to partner alongside other hospice organizations in support of the incredible residents and caregivers who make skilled nursing communities so special.

Thank you to The Spearly Center for creating such a warm and welcoming event. Celebrations like these are a meaningful reminder that connection, compassion, and community are at the heart of care.

We’re proud to share The Denver Hospice 2025 Annual Report.

This year’s report highlights the compassion, connection, and community that make our mission possible. From caring for patients and families across our region to providing charity care, grief support, pediatric services, and moments of healing and joy, every story reflects the impact of compassionate hospice care.

In 2025, The Denver Hospice provided care and support to 3,680 people in our community, ensuring comfort, dignity, and expert care for those facing serious illness.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible volunteers who make our mission possible at The Denver Hospice Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

From offering comfort to patients and families, to supporting our teams in countless ways, our volunteers embody compassion in action every single day.

We were honored to hear heartfelt thanks from our leadership team, including President Ben Marcantonio, Kerry McLaughlin, Vice President of Clinical Services, and Sue Farnsworth, Volunteer Bereavement Manager—each sharing just how meaningful our volunteers’ contributions truly are.

To every volunteer: thank you for your generosity, your time, and your unwavering commitment to our community. We simply couldn’t do this work without you.

Team members and volunteers from The Denver Hospice came together on Monday for a special project—handmaking Mother’s Day cards for residents in our local senior communities. 💐

Each card was created with care, filled with heartfelt messages to celebrate and thank the incredible mothers in our community. Our Community Liaisons will be delivering these cards during the first week of May to help spread a little extra joy and connection.

We even had a special visit from one of our DogTor volunteers, Ollie, who made sure all of our work met his very high standards 🐾

Moments like these are a beautiful reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. We’re grateful to our team and volunteers for helping us bring smiles to those we serve.

🌟 Connecting with our community in Highlands Ranch!

Recently, The Denver Hospice had the opportunity to host an information table at the Highlands Ranch Senior Center Senior Center Expo. Events like this are a wonderful way for us to meet community members, answer questions about hospice and palliative care, and share information about the compassionate services we provide.

We loved connecting with older adults, caregivers, and families, and having meaningful conversations about planning ahead and supporting loved ones through serious illness. 💙

🌸 A meaningful return to a place of remembrance.

Today, Connie Segura’s son Michael visited the courtyard at The Denver Hospice while the cherry blossom tree planted in Connie’s memory is in full bloom. The tree, located in the west courtyard of our Inpatient Care Unit, was planted as a tribute to Connie and the care she received.

Michael stopped by to take photos beside the blooming tree—an enduring reminder of love, remembrance, and the impact of compassionate hospice care. He was joined by members of our team, including President Ben Marcantonio and Care Synergy Chief Operating Officer Tricia Ford.

Moments like these remind us that the connections formed through hospice care continue long after a patient’s time with us.

Since our founding in 1978 by Jewish oncology nurse Carolyn Jaffe, we have been honored to care for individuals and families of the Jewish faith. As we celebrate Passover—a time of reflection, freedom, and tradition—we recognize the importance of honoring each person’s beliefs, values, and customs.

We are proud to be accredited by the National Institute for Jewish Hospice and remain the only provider in Colorado with this distinction.
