On Saturday February 7th, around 50 of our chapter members and their guests gathered to celebrate the 17th annual SABR Day at Stoney’s in Denver, CO. The festivities kicked off with a rendition of “Centerfield” performed by chapter Vice-President Kurt Wells and included the 2nd presentation of the annual Herb Shankman Award and our annual trivia contest, won by Mike Roberts (remarkably for the 3rd year straight).

But the highlight of the event was, without doubt, the Q&A panel of former Rockies alumni – Pitcher Denny Stark and SS/2B Clint Barmes which was led by Kurt. Denny and Clint spent over an hour answering questions then hung around afterward to mingle with the guests.

Vote for the National Ballpark Museum in the Newsweek Fan's Choice Poll! - Newsweek magazine is conducting a Fan's Choice Poll to vote for your favorite baseball museum in the country (other than Cooperstown). Among the choices is the National Ballpark Museum in Denver.

This museum is an icon in Denver's LoDo neighborhood, conveniently kitty-cornered to Coors Field. It’s the only museum dedicated to the original 14 classic ballparks, and also focuses on preserving the history of baseball in Denver.

Please show your support for this wonderful museum by casting your vote for it.
You can vote once per day until polls close on August 20 at noon ET. The 10 winners will be announced on August 27.

On Feb 8th, close to 50 of our chapter members and their guests gathered at the Stanley Marketplace in Aurora, CO for our annual SABR Day celebration. This year’s event included a very interesting panel of regarded local Rockies journalists led by Patrick Lyons along with Manny Randhawa from MLB.com and former MLB pitcher Mark Knudson of Mile High Sports. The panel discussed the good and the bad of the upcoming Rockies season and future of the franchise then fielded questions from the guests.
Our annual trivia contest was highly competitive as always with Michael Roberts winning for the 2nd consecutive year.
The festivities concluded, as always, with our annual game of catch on the lawn.
