Denver CASA advocates for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

The mission of Denver CASA is to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in Denver Juvenile Court through the services of specially selected and trained community volunteers from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities.

At Denver CASA, we recognize that Indigenous children and youth, along with many other historically marginalized communities, continue to be disproportionately represented in the child welfare system. We believe every child deserves to have their voice heard, their identity respected, and their connections to family, culture, and community preserved.

As advocates, we remain committed to learning, listening, and working toward a more equitable child welfare system that better serves all children and youth. Today and every day, we stand alongside Indigenous communities in the pursuit of justice, belonging, and opportunity for every child. 💙

Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Kim Brands! 🎉

On her case, Kim has gone above and beyond to support not only the children, but also their parents, their caregiver, and the entire team of support. Most importantly, she has become a trusted and dependable presence in the lives of the children she serves. Through regular visits, special outings, and unwavering advocacy, Kim has helped them navigate difficult transitions while ensuring they always have someone in their corner.

🎉 Welcome back, Aly! 🎉

We are excited to welcome Aly as Denver CASA's new Older Youth Program Manager. Aly previously served as an Advocate Supervisor with Denver CASA and brings an extensive background of supporting young people who have experienced trauma, including her own experience as a foster parent to teens.

When she's not supporting youth and advocates, you can find Aly enjoying concerts, community festivals, mountain adventures, and volunteering in causes she cares deeply about.

Today we're celebrating the annual tradition of awkward smiles, questionable outfit choices, and school portraits that somehow lived on refrigerators for years.

While we're having a little fun sharing Denver CASA staff school pictures, we also know the start of a school year can bring a lot of emotions for kids. New routines, new classrooms, and new challenges can feel super exciting and super overwhelming all at once.

For the youth we work with, having a consistent, caring CASA Volunteer in their corner can make a world of difference during times of change.
