This is what community showing up looks like! Last night, community members came together at the Aurora Public Schools Board meeting to keep Green & Healthy Schools part of the conversation.

We shared our experiences. We asked questions. We lifted up opportunities for healthier, more sustainable schools. And most importantly, we continued building a relationship between community voices and the decisions shaping APS schools.

The September 15 meeting may be over, but the work continues.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, listened, and stood alongside our Green & Healthy Schools campaign. We’re excited to keep working with our community and APS toward schools where every student can learn, grow, and thrive. 🌿

What do Green & Healthy Schools look like to the educators who show up for Aurora students every day?

Gabriel, an APS educator, shared why he supports continued investment in schools where students feel welcomed and safe, with sustainable technology and resources that help every school thrive. And he sees an opportunity to keep building on the work APS is already doing.

On September 15, COPA’s Green & Healthy Schools campaign leaders and community members will return to the Aurora Public Schools Board meeting to continue the conversation about healthier, more sustainable schools.

💚 Join us in showing support for APS students, educators, and families as we work together toward what comes next.

Annalia used her voice at the Aurora Public Schools Board meeting to advocate for greener, healthier schools. 💚

When students, families, educators, and community members speak up, they help shape the future of our schools. The people who learn, teach, and work in our schools should have a meaningful role in shaping what comes next.

That’s why we’ll be back at the APS Board of Education meeting on September 15th. Hear why Annalia chose to speak, and DM us to get involved with the Green & Healthy Schools campaign.

What issues affect our lives, and what can we build together to change them?

On Saturday, COPA members came together for our latest Power Summer training. Through conversation, strategy exercises, and working groups, members explored the issues affecting their lives, how power operates, and how we can turn shared concerns into collective action.

Strong campaigns don’t begin with someone else deciding what matters. They begin by listening, building trust, and organizing around the priorities our members and communities identify together.

Thank you to everyone who brought their experiences, ideas, and vision into the room. This is how we move from me to we and build the power to win meaningful change.

WHOSE SCHOOLS?! OUR SCHOOLS! 📣

COPA members and Aurora community members are ready to work with APS to create a transparent plan for greener, healthier schools—because the people who learn, teach, and work in our schools should have a voice in shaping their future.

This work is just beginning. DM us to join the Green & Healthy Schools campaign. 💚
