Tomorrow is Colorado Gives Day!

Join us in creating a lasting impact for Black youth and families in Denver. At 5280 Freedom School and Black Lives Matter 5280, we believe that empowering young people through culturally responsive education is the key to building stronger, healthier communities.

This Year’s Impact:

✨ Over 100 individuals served through our transformative programs:

60 youth participants (ages 4–15), including educators in training (ages 14–16)
3 Youth Assistants (ages 17–22), gaining leadership and work experience
28 guest instructors sharing their expertise
9 general educators and 1 dedicated program director ensuring high-quality programming
And that’s not all!

📚 We distributed 200+ culturally empowering books to inspire pride and literacy.

🎒 Every Summer Freedom School youth received a custom backpack filled with school supplies.

📅 We hosted 5 Saturday School sessions, providing year-round learning and engagement.

This session will honor Haiti, the first free Black republic, and celebrate the powerful legacy of Black resistance movements. We’ll also dedicate time to self-care and rest. The 8th Annual 5280 Freedom School Summer Program is back — a FREE, 2-week day camp designed to empower Black children in the Denver Metro area!

From July 14–25, 2025, kids will explore a vibrant mix of:
• Play-based learning
• STEM & literacy
• Field trips
• Visual & performing arts
• Community building
• Daily meals - AND MORE!

Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
