We were incredibly fortunate to have outstanding conductors at this weekend’s All-State Festival. Jake Runestad directed the Mixed Choir in a beautiful performance, featuring Come to the Woods, one of his own compositions. There’s nothing quite like students getting to work directly with the composer! 🤩

To wrap up the evening, the Mixed Choir took the balcony under the direction of Jake Runestad. Their performance of Father Thunder by Laura Jēkabsone was electrifying ⚡️

What incredible performances earlier this month for the Colorado All State Choirs! We cannot get over how amazing all of these young musicians were, led by their world-class conductors. We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who attended our concert, the teachers who work with these talented students every day, and again to the amazing conductors: Dr. Jennaya Robison, Dr. Marques L.A. Garrett, and Dr. Anton Armstrong. Music is one of the most powerful tools we have to come together as a community 🎶

Our final day of All State started with a morning of dress rehearsals for all the choirs! We had so many amazing students selected to be showcased in solos and small groups throughout the concert set. The concert is obviously an amazing part of all state choir, but the hours of rehearsals are where these students showed how much music means to them and how hard they were willing to work! So proud of each and every one of you! 🎶
