Hey everyone, this Walt Pourier Executive Director with a personal update from the Stronghold Society… as you know its been a trying few years for everyone with the state of the world and all the struggles we all faced… Stronghold has been keeping the work moving all through the hardships, establishing great relationships and together amazing outreach has been accomplished. We are very grateful for all the continued support in all our outreach efforts… we truly couldn’t do all we do without your support.

Major big moves ahead, and we’ve spent this time to work and grow our capacity to better absorb the amazing updates to come, 2022 and beyond is going to be EPIC! and our outreach will grow 10 times the size very quickly so to create more programs and develop more skateparks all across Native Country through our Stronghold Society skateboarding, music and the arts initiatives. Thank you for all you do and for being a part of this amazing movement! Together we can, and together we are making a difference. I am forever grateful.

“Non profit work, although very rewarding in your spirit and soul it can be exhausting, and can quite possibility lead to burn out... if you feel you are on the verge of burn out just remember... you can't really burn out if you were never on fire to begin with!

To be on fire is to be “unstoppable - enthusiastic - passionate”... to be a roaring burst of energy and have the ability to light up everything and everyone you come in contact with...

To be on fire is to have the ability to fan the embers of hope and compassion within others, that encourages them to continue to spread the powerful positive flame.

So next time you feel the burn out... remember it was your ability to be on fire in the first place that got you there... and look to the very fires you started within others to rekindle those flames of passion and enthusiasm within yourself... you are needed now more then ever in these dark times... restart your fire and light up the darkness!”

‘Universal Shaman is my representation of the creation story. The original concept for this piece was conceived at Burning Man, the neo-pagan festival held each year in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada which exemplifies rebirth and creation. It is not made to represent any particular tribe or culture, but more to illustrate the importance of the role the shaman, medicine people and storytellers play in all human tribes.
My neo-tribal style is heavily influenced by various cultures around the world and those artists who have illustrated the rituals, myths and customs down through the ages. It's my way of paying tribute to those original visionaries that have inspired me and my art.’ -Jeff Wood
