Take the TOHO Challenge 2026 "You Are Mermazing!"

We have curated a beautiful palette of colors for
the TOHO Challenge 2026, “You Are Mermazing!”
The theme and color palette was inspired by my love for all the beautiful artwork in the history of legends and tales of Japanese Art and Mermaids,
and the magic, inspiration and hope that they inspire. Happy Beading!

Rules for TOHO Challenge 2026 Minikit Designers
1. Have Fun! This is your opportunity to create anything you wish, and to show your creative voice to the world! So create the dream design you have always wanted to make but never had the place to wear it! Have fun with all your favorite stitches, or try something totally new and multidimensional, this is your time to play!
2. There is a variety of bead shapes and sizes for you in this kit, and each one is as important as another. We hope that you will use some of each color of TOHO seed beads and each color and shape of the Starman Czech glass/Prestige Crystal in the kit or search your stash and shop for more of the many different sizes and shapes that also come in the same colors to create one eye-catching piece. The color numbers and names are on the list for easy comparing and ordering.
3.Your design can be wearable or structural, in any medium of your choice but must Feature the TOHO seed beads, and the Starman Czech beads and Prestige crystals. We strongly encourage you to use some of all the colors in the palette to get a well balanced design.
You can use more beads in any size or shape of TOHO beads in the exact same stock numbers on the 2026 list of colors, names for TOHO beads may differ depending on retailer, and packaging might have extra letters for distributor use. If you have questions please let us know there is one sample of each color in the kit, you can add more in any size or shape that you choose in those same colors to create your vision.
4. You are allowed to use in any size or shape of Starman Czech Beads and Prestige Crystal Beads in the same colors that we have on the 2026 color list. There is one sample of each of the Starman Czech beads or Prestige beads in the kit, the beads come in many finishes in those colors that you can use in your choice of finish (Regular, Matte, AB, Shimmer) in any of the colors on the list. Find more beads in the 2026 palette colors at your favorite local bead shop or online retailer. If you have questions on a color please let us know.
5. No other seed beads or Czech beads or crystals may be used if they are not on the list!
6. You can add one Focal item of your choice and use it once, such as 1 Cabochon and should blend with the color palette.
7. You can use any clasp, findings, backing, threads, fibers and structural supports, to create your design—if seen, make sure they stay within the challenge color palette and are used sparingly, so that the TOHO seed beads are the star of the show!
