After years of dreaming, organizing, and building alongside so many of you, we're opening the doors of the LCAC for public construction tours. This is a moment to stand inside what we've been building together - to see the beams, the rooms, the becoming.

Tours will run on Friday's in April and May, beginning Friday, April 10. Groups are capped at 10 to keep things safe and ensure each visitor gets real time with the space and the story.

What to know before you come:

* Closed-toe shoes are required (this is an active construction site)
* Long pants recommended
* Hard hats and safety vests provided on site
* Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in and gear up
* Parking is available along 12th Ave and Umatilla.
* RSVP required — spots fill quickly

To the donors, volunteers, artists, neighbors, tradespeople, and believers who carried this vision through every season: thank you. This building does not belong to one person. It belongs to all of us and to the generations who will fill it.

At the LCAC, we believe wellness isn't separate from culture — it grows from it. This April, we're inviting our community to slow down, get their hands in the soil, and reconnect with nature as an act of care.

Manos de la Tierra (Hands of the Earth) is a hands-on spring wellness workshop where participants will paint and plant their own mini pots, explore practical gardening skills, and discover how tending to living things supports emotional well-being and stress relief. Led by LCAC Community Arts & Wellness Coordinator Mandy Medrano, this workshop weaves together mindfulness, creativity, and nature in a way that is accessible to everyone — no experience necessary.

Manos de la Tierra es un taller práctico de bienestar primaveral donde los participantes pintarán y plantarán sus propias macetas, aprenderán habilidades básicas de jardinería y explorarán cómo el cuidado de las plantas apoya el bienestar emocional y reduce el estrés. This is their most exploratory show yet — a gallery of installations where the work isn’t on the wall, it’s all around you. Each student built an environment from their own creative world: materials, space, and experience, all in conversation with the audience standing inside it.

Dear Comunidad,

Across the country, this season feels heavy and uneven. Some are carrying heavier burdens, while others are walking a steadier path.

What grounds me is what I witness each day at the LCAC—people gathering to create, remember, and heal. Elders and youth exchanging wisdom. Families building altars. Artists turning difficulty into beauty. Creativity becomes its own refuge, a reminder that hope is something we practice together.

As we close the year, we are not setting a fundraising goal, and we hold no expectation.

We simply offer this invitation:
