A very quick favor, please?

Johnstown SCHEELS is awarding $5,000 grants to local non-profit organizzations, and Sportswomen of Colorado needs your nomination to help us make the Top 50! Nominations are open through Monday, October 19.

Last year, SCHEELS awarded us a $5,000 grant which allowed us to purchase sports equipment for our Satellite Clinics Program for kids! We reached our three-year participation goal in just one year - serving 1,032 students through eight free clinics across five sports and eight Colorado schools!

Our clinics bring female college student-athletes into Title I elementary schools to create leadership opportunities for the athletes while introducing kids to new sports. The school kids see women in leadership roles, build their own confidence, and have a whole lot of fun!

Thanks to the SCHEELS grant last year, we were able to leave much-needed sports and P.E. equipment at our partner schools for students to continue playing and practicing long after the clinics end. Whenever possible, we also arrange for the school kids to attend a college sports event to cheer on the student-athletes they met during our clinics.

Abbey Glynn is our Camps, Clinics and Community Outreach Coordinator.

Thank you for always being in our corner and helping us keep this program growing. It truly means so much!
