Over the past months, the Mending Circle has brought together caring individuals with a shared purpose: creating handmade warmth for neighbors experiencing homelessness. Although we've worked hard and created many beautiful items, the growing need this winter means there is still more to do.
We are now welcoming donations of warm clothing and winter essentials to help ensure our community members have the support they need during the colder months ahead.
If you would like to donate, please contact Dara at [email protected] to coordinate a convenient drop-off or pick-up. 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 and Donations will be accepted until November 7th.

Lived experience comes from personally experiencing mental health conditions and seeking, receiving – or being unable to get – adequate care and support. Lived experience of mental health conditions takes many different forms. No one person can speak for everyone.

People with lived experience understand mental health systems in ways that cannot be gained through professional training or research alone. Their expertise is essential to helping mental health systems identify what needs to change.

Organizations across the world, like Advocates for Recovery Colorado, harness this vital expertise every day, offering peer-led support programs, advocacy, and recovery coaching that bridge the gap between individual lived experience and systemic transformation.

World Mental Health Day is a global initiative established by the World Federation for Mental Health and recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and mobilize efforts in support of mental wellbeing.
