This weekend at the 2026 USATKD Colorado State Championships we got to celebrate taekwondo in Colorado with 302 amazing athletes - including participants from Washington, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, and Florida! We are so proud of your dedication to the sport!
We also had the opportunity to celebrate Colorado athletes who have trained hard and earned spots on the USA Taekwondo national team! Let's give a big round of applause to:

On the referee side, we were honored to have some of the best in the nation officiate at the state championships. Congratulations to Priya Juarez and Liam Herndon who were awarded trophies as Best Female Referee and Best Male Referee!!
Behind the scenes, more than 40 volunteers offered their time and talents to prepare for, set up, and manage all aspects of the tournament. The entire COSTA board is truly grateful for your efforts and enthusiasm. Events like this cannot happen without the support of volunteers, and we appreciate you! Congratulations to Talia Mehaignerie and Rae Griggs - hard working volunteers on the set up and clean up crews - who won the drawings for the gift baskets.

Finally, we would like to thank the parents and other family members. Without your support - in the dojangs, on the road, at tournaments - the athletes cannot pursue their full potential in taekwondo. Thank you!!!
