We had a great bike tour in Fort Collins! we began at Watson Lake and ending in Old Town Square, and topped off the evening with some cold beers.

Rocky Mountain Water and ASCE YPs teamed up for a ballgame outing! YPs were networking at a local pub and then headed over to the rockpile while watching the Colorado Rockies play the New York Mets.

Boulder Water Treatment Tour

On March 1st, the Young Professionals congregated for the inaugural activity in their new college outreach program, an effort to plan events in locations more accessible to students. The first part of the afternoon consisted of a tour of the Boulder Reservoir Water Treatment Plant, located adjacent to Boulder Reservoir near Gunbarrel. This plant is currently responsible for all of Boulder’s potable water demand (~40 MGD), as the larger and newer Betasso Water Treatment Plant undergoes maintenance and construction. The tour was filled to capacity, as nearly 25 students and professionals attended. The tour lasted nearly an hour, highlighting the facility’s dissolved air floatation (DAF) treatment system.

After the tour, the YPs relocated to the Rayback Collective: an indoor/outdoor bar and food truck joint. Here they were joined by more students, with nearly 35 people in attendance overall. The first college outreach tour and happy hour was a great success! The next outing will take place on April 27th in Fort Collins, where YPs will have the opportunity to tour the wastewater treatment plant at the New Belgium Brewery—and sample their product.
