I started running for fitness. But somewhere along the way, I fell in love with it — and with that came a deep gratitude for the ability to move, to push, to keep going.

I’ve had injuries and setbacks, but I’ve always had the privilege of coming back. And the more I’ve learned about ALS, the more that word — privilege — sits with me. To move freely, to lace up and go, to keep chasing the next mile is a gift that this disease cruelly takes away. I didn’t fully understand how many people in my own life had been touched by it until I started this journey. That changed something in me.

A marathon has been on my list for a while, something I kept finding reasons to wait on. When the opportunity came to run with Augie’s Quest, the only answer was yes. Because this is for something much bigger than myself.

Every mile I run is a reminder of what movement means — and a commitment to the families fighting for more time, more hope, and most importantly, a cure.

I couldn’t be more proud to run alongside this team and carry this mission across that finish line.

Remembering the legendary Mike Ditka. ❤️

We’ll never forget this special moment at the Athletic Business + AB Show Show in San Diego, when Coach Ditka spent time with Augie Nieto and shared with the audience that Augie was one of the most courageous people he had ever met. Coming from a man who knew so much about strength, determination, and perseverance, those words meant so much.

Rest in peace, Coach Ditka. ❤️

All In for Allen! 🪂❤️

What an incredible day of community! In honor of Rick Allen, more than 250 friends, family, and supporters came together to Take the Leap to End ALS, raising over $56,000 for ALS research!

A huge thank you to Rick, Melissa, and everyone who donated and showed up in support. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Augie’s Quest family and the fight to end ALS.

We are heartbroken by the passing of Brooke Eby, a powerful ALS advocate and beloved member of the ALS community.

Brooke shared her story with the Augie’s Quest community, from her journey to an ALS diagnosis to finding her voice as an advocate and creating ALS Together so that no one affected by ALS would have to face this disease alone.

Brooke brought honesty, humor, vulnerability, and an unmistakable voice to the fight against ALS. She made people listen, laugh, learn, and care. Her impact will continue through the countless people she reached and the community she built.

Our hearts are with Brooke’s family, friends, loved ones, and the entire ALS Together community. ❤️

Augie Nieto’s 20th Annual Tradition of Hope Gala was truly one to remember. For two decades, this special evening has brought our community together around one mission: to end ALS.

We were so proud to honor Shannon Eusey with the Augie Nieto Legacy Award, recognizing her incredible leadership, heart, and commitment to carrying Augie’s legacy and our mission forward. A special thank you to Johnny and Fernando for sharing their stories and reminding us why this work matters so deeply.

And what a show! Erich Bergen was the perfect emcee, hilarious, inspiring, and unforgettable, alongside incredible performances by Eden Espinosa, Cheyenne Jackson, and Tracie Thoms, plus a surprise performance by Sheléa Melody McDonald

We also took time to remember past honorees and members of our Tradition of Hope family we have lost over the years, along with dear friends who courageously lived with ALS. Their impact will always be part of our story.

Together, we raised an incredible $1.13 million to fuel ALS research and move us closer to treatments and cures. To our sponsors, donors, committee, board, volunteers, ALS families, and every person who joined us Saturday night, thank you. You made this milestone evening so incredibly special.

Twenty years later, Augie’s legacy is stronger than ever. We know he would be so proud to see this community continuing what he started, with hope, determination, and an unwavering belief that we can end ALS.
