DCIS Foundation Our mission is to advocate for and financially support immersive educational travel experiences for DPS students— whether close to home or across the globe.

The Denver Center for International Studies (DCIS) Foundation creates a world of opportunity for students by taking them out into it. We enable ECE through 12th grade students in four Denver Public Schools to take their knowledge from the classroom and apply it to real-life – through travel, language immersion, community service and cultural exchanges. These experiences transform students into confident, informed and compassionate individuals, enhancing their own self-image and their image of the world. These opportunities also help students develop into globally competent people who are leaders and problem-solvers and take action in their communities.

🌍 We are thrilled to announce Dr. Carrie A. Olsen as our keynote speaker for this year's gala.

Dr. Olson spent nearly 33 years teaching in Denver Public Schools and founded a nonprofit dedicated to funding educational travel for students across the city. She cared so deeply about understanding the power of that travel that she made it the focus of her doctoral research, exploring what it truly means for young people to experience the world beyond their neighborhoods.

This year's theme is Why We Travel, and there may be no one better equipped to answer it.

Join us as we celebrate the power of intercultural learning and raise funds to get more DPS students out into the world!

Congratulations, Flor Alvidrez! A proud Denver Public Schools alumna and West High School graduate who witnessed the launch of the Center for International Studies program and the doors it opened for hundreds of students. Congratulations, Flor. Our community is better because of you!
