Being at the Asian Business Conference reminded me how much we carry into a room that others cannot see.

We all know what it feels like to show up smiling while our minds are still running through responsibilities—work, home, children, bills, and the dreams we all are trying so hard to keep alive.

Behind these smiles, many of us recognize something familiar: late nights, quiet tears, worry, and the determination to keep going for our families.

That is why showing up matters to me. A conversation, a shared experience, or someone saying “I understand” can give me the strength I didn’t realize I needed.

Grateful to share space with people who are building so much while carrying so much. Our struggles deserve a place in our community’s stories, too. Someone else may need to hear them to feel a little less alone. ❤️

Our stories deserve to be seen—and today, we’re so proud to share that “Saara’s Baara” has received an Honorable Mention at the Asian Independent Film Festival 2026! 🎬🏆🇳🇵

Seeing our story and our Newah heritage celebrated through film fills our heart with pride.

A girl, a ritual, a legacy, a transformation. This film carries a piece of who we are—and the traditions we hope our children will carry forward. ❤️

So grateful to the wonderful team who brought this story to life:

✨ Produced by: Colorado Nepalese Community
🎬 Directed by: Anupa Shrestha
🎬 Creative Director: Sofia Maharjan Karki

Thank you to the Asian Independent Film Festival for this honor, and to everyone who has supported our journey. Our community’s stories belong on the screen, and we’re proud we are telling them.

Join us at the Museum of Boulder for an inspiring evening with Shailee Basnet—Everest summiteer, leader of the historic Seven Summits Women Team, storyteller, and one incredible Nepali woman!

Come hear her stories of courage, sisterhood, resilience, and breaking barriers—with plenty of Shailee’s signature humor along the way. ❤️

Museum Mondays ✨

Little eyes explore, little hands create,
little hearts learn to appreciate. ❤️

This is why exhibitions like Heritage in Motion matter. When children experience another culture through art, stories, and creativity, we plant seeds of curiosity, respect, and belonging.

Museums don’t just preserve the past—they open young minds to the world. 🌏🎨🇳🇵

On behalf of the Colorado Nepalese Community (CNC), we are deeply saddened by the passing of Basu Dev Shrestha.

This loss feels especially close to our CNC family. He was the beloved brother of our dear Shanti Aunty, Narayan Uncle, the maternal uncle of our close friends Salina and Manisha, Merina and the loving father of our very generous and kind-hearted Sarita Didi.

Behind every community are families who quietly give, care, and show up for one another. Basu Dev Shrestha was part of such a family, and we are grateful for the warmth and generosity his family has always shared with our community.

To Shanti Aunty, Sarita Didi, Salina, Manisha, Narayan uncle and the entire Shrestha family—please know that Colorado Nepalese Community family is mourning with you and holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.

May his beautiful memories continue to live through everyone whose life he touched.

हार्दिक श्रद्धाञ्जली। उहाँको आत्माले चिरशान्ति पाओस्। 🙏🕯️

With love and deepest condolences,
Colorado Nepalese Community (CNC)

Finally—it’s happening! ❤️🇳🇵

There are moments when an idea that once existed only in conversations, sketches, and imagination finally becomes something you can walk into, sit inside, and experience together.

Colorado Nepalese Community is incredibly proud to be part of COMMON GROUND: Community Design Festival, celebrating design for civic good in Denver.

For CNC, this journey has been about something very close to our hearts: bringing the idea of the Nepali Falcha—a traditional community resting place—into Denver’s public space. A Falcha is more than architecture. It is where people pause, elders talk, neighbors meet, stories are exchanged, and community happens. ❤️

Through this project, our heritage is not simply being displayed—it is helping shape a conversation about belonging, public space, representation, and what it means to build a city for everyone.

And we are especially proud to see Colorado Nepalese Community represented alongside organizations doing meaningful civic and community work across Denver and very thankful to the whole team Leyuan Li T R A N | NGUYEN - WILLS Danny Wills Mayor Mike Johnston and all the students team CU Denver Arch + Planning

Come see what we have been working on. Come experience the designs, conversations and stories. Most importantly, come celebrate with us!

Sometimes representation begins simply by showing up. And this time, Nepal is showing up in the heart of Denver. 🇳🇵❤️🇺🇸

What a FUN day at the Kids Bazaar! 🎉💰❤️

Our little ones became CEOs, artists, salespeople, negotiators—and VERY serious money counters! 😂 Saara came home super happy, especially with all the money she made! 💵🤣

Big cheers to all the kids for their creativity and confidence—and to all the moms and parents, aka the investors, drivers, assistants, and marketing teams! 😂👏

Thank you for creating such a wonderful opportunity for our little entrepreneurs. Small tables today, BIG dreams tomorrow! ❤️🌟
