LuBird’s Light Foundation was created to build magical, inclusive playgrounds for children of all needs and to support children with rare disabilities such as PKS. No parents allowed, just the 8th grade students at their first dance last Friday night at . 🪩 🎼 A teacher sent me this video. Full heart knowing how much fun our little 8th grader had. Best dance train I ever did see!

All kids deserve a chance to dance! brought the moves to the walk this past Sunday in Wash Park. Thanks to all the volunteers who help this very special team of beautiful dancers. 👯‍♀️ Everyone had so much fun!

Equal Edges adaptive ice skating team. CAN NOT WAIT for this crew to shine this weekend at the BIG ice skating show at . Just watching the practice was emotional and beautiful- so proud of these kids. Grateful for the opportunities where all kids have a chance to play, this time on ice! After a major cleanup session, a special story time took place at our playground this week! 💕 📖 A few high schoolers from Valor and Regis volunteered their time to cleanup, then had the wonderful idea to read at the playground. Two special girls were able to come- Sophia and her mom, and Luna, who attends the , seemed to love it and no doubt the high schoolers cherished it equally as much or more! No doubt- play is vital for children! And our mission is simply- All kids deserve a chance to play. We have a loaded couple weeks with 5 meetings scheduled to keep advocating and donating for inclusion- exciting things to come and we won’t stop until kids of all abilities feel included and welcomed. So grateful for our team of advocates and existing and upcoming partnerships throughout Colorado 💗🙏🏻🌞

Happy Valentine’s Day! 💗💗💗💗💗Here are a few of the many attempts to create Lucia’s school Valentines cards. 😆😍💗You Rock, LuBird, as do you friends! Pop Rocks provide a fun and highly sensory experience, even for kids who don’t eat by mouth like Lu, so we chose those to hand out this year! Thanks to aunt and cousin Marco for these amazing shades!

Better together! From consulting with and Littleton to ensure inclusive design, to special events at LuBird’s Playground at , it’s been a great year for our little nonprofit. We work to ensure all kids have a chance to play and the reward of seeing friendships form and smiles bloom, when kids have that chance, simply is the best. Happy New Year! We can’t wait to see what lies ahead in 2026!
