What a weekend!

We’re still buzzing from a sold-out screening of Rocky Mountain Shorts and a packed house at the WIFMCO Mixer during Denver Film’s Women+ Film Festival.

To see that room full — filmmakers, students, collaborators, and future collaborators — all showing up, connecting, and celebrating Colorado-made work… that’s the kind of energy that builds a real community.

Thank you to everyone who came out, stayed late, introduced yourselves, supported the filmmakers, and made the space feel so welcoming and alive. These moments don’t happen without people choosing to show up — and you did.

A huge congratulations to the filmmakers who shared their work on the big screen. And thank you to our partners at Denver Film for creating a platform that continues to elevate bold, local storytelling.

We’re proud, we’re grateful, and we’re just getting started.

Come watch some local shorts and with Colorado’s film community! 🎬
WIFMCO is proud to partner on a special mixer open to everyone from 3:30–5 PM — industry pros, students, emerging filmmakers, and the film-curious all welcome.
Join us for light bites from WIFMCO, drink specials at the bar, and a chance to meet the filmmakers behind the Women + Film Local Shorts Package, with projects made right here in Colorado. We’ll also celebrate the future of film with the announcement of the WIFMCO Finishing Funds scholarship recipient, generously supported by Sue Capitelli.
Catch the local shorts package before the mixer, then stay to meet filmmakers, featured subjects, and community partners in person.

Still recovering (in the best way) from the Industry Fair Cocktail Party. 🥂✨

Miranda Bailey absolutely owned the room — legend, straight-shooter, and somehow also the warmest human. She dropped wisdom, delivered a few perfectly timed reality checks, and had everyone walking out like: “Wait… I can do that.”

Great drinks. Better conversations. A suspicious amount of career momentum in the air.

If you were there, you get it. If you weren’t… don’t do that to yourself next time. 😜💜🎬

And many thanks to the incredible team— hosts , planning powerhouse and catering team . What a beautiful night!

Saturday’s double feature: Making a Film in Colorado + Breaking In — two powerhouse panels packed with real talk, real pathways and those who are doing the work.

Join Cheshire Li (Grip), ichelle Knoebel (HMU) and Sara Salazar (Stunts), moderated by Angel Williams, for an honest conversation about starting out, building momentum, and navigating the real-world path into film and media. Expect practical advice, candid stories, and the kind of insight that helps emerging creatives move from “trying to break in” to actually building a career.
