One month down, and we’re already seeing the magic of a Girls Inc. after school season :)

That’s one month of girls finding their community, discovering their strengths, trying new things, and making Girls Inc. their own. Because when girls have a place where they feel supported and encouraged to be themselves, so much becomes possible. They build friendships, find dedicated mentors, try new things, and become part of a community that believes in them every step of the way.

Girls don’t just belong in the room—they can design it, build it, and plan for what comes next.

At our latest Teen Saturday, girls got hands-on with the world of engineering, exploring everything from mechanical engineering and fire protection to architecture, construction, and plumbing.

From mapping out how a building is designed to exploring how plumbing systems impact a structure, our girls spent the entire day learning by doing—even getting a chance to build their own fire sprinkle systems, putting their problem-solving skills to the test. Thank you, Henderson Engineers, for teaching us the steps!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month from Girls Inc. of Metro Denver!

From September 15 to October 15, we’re celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities—including the generations of women who have helped shape Colorado. Their stories, traditions, and achievements continue to strengthen our communities and inspire the next generation of girls to embrace who they are, use their voices, and take pride in their identities.

East Denver, we are here!

On September 2, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver officially opened the doors to our newest location at the historic Clayton Early Learning campus — creating even more space for girls to build confidence, discover their strengths and dream boldly.

We are so grateful to our community for showing up for girls time and time again. Our new home in East Denver would not have been possible without your support, and that was clear at our grand opening, where nearly 130 community members, families, staff and partners joined us to celebrate this exciting new chapter.

We were honored to hear remarks from Girls Inc. CEO Kayla Garcia, Denver Broncos Foundation Executive Director Allie Engelken, Mayor Mike Johnston and Councilman Darrell Watson. And a special thank you to Jen Ross for capturing the beautiful moments that marked the start of this new chapter.

And this is just the beginning. Our new 4,000-square-foot location will expand access to:
- After-school programming
- Mental health and wellness support
- Teen clubs and meet-ups
- College and career readiness
- Workforce internships and career pathways
- Mentorship and leadership opportunities

Here’s to opening doors, creating opportunities and making sure every girl in Denver has the chance to grow up strong, smart and bold.
